Andy's Jazz Club & Restaurant — River North food with a strong Band. Good energy here, especially on weekends. Cocktail menu runs deeper than expected, and quick and efficient. Brenda Betancourt: "The artists were phenomenal, delivering rich, authentic soul that kept the audience captivated"

I visited family in Chicago and we went out to a Jazz club and it was amazing. One thing you must understand is you cant hold conversation during the show. Its very loud ! I really enjoyed the food we ordered alot. I bought a t shirt as well. I think this is a great place.

“Surprisingly amazing.”
Surprisingly amazing! Can actually see why they've been in business for 30+ years... For a "bar" type of establishment, the food was CRAZY good, our server was amazing, and the music was great (actually went on a night when the Sabertooth band performed). Chicken Vesuvio 🤌🏾 Shrimp Risotto 😋 Jambalaya 🔥 Apple Pie ❤️ Atomic Cake 🥰 Other than the cover charge, all was fantastic. Highly recommend.

“Popular jazz club featuring a lot of new bands.”
Popular jazz club featuring a lot of new bands. Came here this past Saturday night for a late set, and the room was almost full. I liked the layout. Tables lined up along the two long sides of the square stage, so pretty much every seat had a direct view. We sat in the second row and were still less than ten feet from the drums, which was great… until it got a bit loud. My friend made the reservation, so I can’t remember the band name, but it wasn’t traditional jazz. More of a jazz–rock hybrid. Apparently the group had only formed a few months ago, so it seemed like a solid spot for up-and-coming musicians to get on their feet. Since we were the last group to be seated, we weren’t sure how ordering worked. Each session lasts about 90 minutes, and we were there for the final 10:30pm set. The kitchen and bar were about to close, so our server took orders right away. We grabbed a couple cocktails and the Nola Jambalaya. We had just come from one of the best dinners we’ve ever had, so expectations were low. But their Jambalaya slapped. Super flavorful without a lot of MSG prominence, and the rice soaked up all the seasoning without turning mushy or soupy. Would definitely come back for another late-night set.

“My first experience at a jazz club and this was amazing.”
My first experience at a jazz club and this was amazing. The music was great. Some people talking in the back but you can tune it out. The calamari portion size is small I would say. But overall great experience. Oh and I almost went here thinking we can just walk in but you need a reservation. Luckily I got a last minute one at 10pm. Admission charge at the door as well $20 pp.

“I really enjoyed the live music.”
I really enjoyed the live music. I think the food was delicious but overpriced. The nachos were amazing. Extremely overpriced. It was $22. I paid for the surf and turf with the 6oz steak and 2 shrimp skewers. First of all. I don't know if I read it wrong but it was not two skewers but one with two shrimp on it. A 3oz steak and mashed potatoes. It was delicious but not worth $50. Whoever poured the drinks poured heavy and I loved it. Overall I enjoyed my experience here. Make sure you make a reservation ahead of time. I will be coming back for the drinks and music.

“While we did not have dinner, we came for the live Jazz show and drinks.”
While we did not have dinner, we came for the live Jazz show and drinks. Charles Heath and his band played a spectacular set and really enjoyed the show. What a great value, $20 per person at the door for the 8PM show that lasted nearly 90 minutes. I see why this has been a Chicago staple for decades and should be on your list of things to see during your visit.

“I am sure there are more authentic places in Chicago but for us Andy’s ticked all the boxes.”
I am sure there are more authentic places in Chicago but for us Andy’s ticked all the boxes. A bit of live music, food and close to the hotel we were staying at. It’s a bit conveyor belt ish. In, sit down, food drink music and then asked to leave for the next showing. But we thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would recommend to support local musicians. Was asked for photo id on entry, not sure why, I am 50, but something to think about as I was told it was needed.

“Very friendly, comfortable club.”
Very friendly, comfortable club. The food was surprisingly good for a place known for music. Book early for up front seats. We booked same day, got the bar. Still not bad, sat next to the piano guy, got to watch his hands.

“We had a fantastic experience at a 2030 show on Monday.”
We had a fantastic experience at a 2030 show on Monday. It was a big jazz band, and was amazing. We had made main floor seat reservations and were directly in front of the band. Great sound, wonderful music, attentive service. Highly recommend.
