verbatim, from Google
“That calamari was kinda nuts. The batter covered the entire thing and it was so savory, super crispy, yet so thin, light, and with a kick of spiciness it was perfect. The soups were also nice and light and still flavorful. Prefect for the cold weather. Beautiful ambience inside and I'm sure its also pretty nice to walk outside when its warm.”

“Typical Taiwanese/Shanghainese restaurant. Everything is clean and fresh. Price is cheap.”

“This place is clean and well decorated, the staff are super friendly. We ordered fried rice and beef brisket wonton noodle soup, and they were delicious! Will definitely come back!

“Best Chinese food since coming to Chicago. Definitely recommended! 👍”

“Great value. Chinese food (not American Chinese food). I especially like the Dongpo Pork.”

“absolutely delicious! and very aesthetic plating presentation and interior. will come back to try more food!”

“Great new addition to Chinatown food scene. Had a couple meals and really enjoyed just about every dish. Crab Lions head soup is one I would order every time. Nice pig ear appetizer with a bit of smokiness to the taste. Dong Po Pork belly delicious. A menu worth exploring. Look”

“Our 5th+ time at Nine Garden and the Lion’s Head soup was surprisingly delicious. Other items we had like crispy pork and nine garden veggies are great. Will be back again and again!”

“We got: -風味茄子 (very crispy but I didn't care for the flavor as much) -水煮牛 (not very spicy but the beef was tender and the broth was delicious) -干炒牛河 (surprisingly not greasy; could use a bit more flavor but it was overall tasty and the best I've had in Chicago) -東坡肉 (pretty tender; hard to go wrong with this dish) Service was pretty slow but I think it's because they're short-staffed. The vibes are great. Even though it's slightly noisy/loud, you can still talk at the table. I would come back and try some other dishes!”

“Food was good but we got limited amount of shrimp with our shrimp pasta dish. Nice service and atmosphere.”
