“We are so happy that we visited Anelya because it brought back the flavors we had been missing for so long. The food was absolutely delicious, the atmosphere was wonderful, and the service was outstanding! A special thank you to Misha for letting us try different types of kvass—I had never even heard of banana kvass before😅! Now we are already looking forward to our trip to Chicago so we can visit this amazing place again. Highly recommended!”

“I really enjoyed my visit to this restaurant. The borscht was absolutely delicious — honestly, one of the best I have ever tasted. The service was also professional, attentive, and friendly. The only thing I miss is the Kyiv Cake that used to be on the menu, as it was one of my favorite desserts. Other than that, everything was very tasty, and I would be happy to come back again.”

“What a wonderful experience to bring back memories of my Ukrainian grandparents. We had the tasting menu which was full of very good flavors. You’ll enjoy each element of the menu from starter to dessert. The servers are friendly and happy to answer questions about Ukrainian food or other topics.”

“Wow! Really delicious! Had perogies/dumplings, Chicken Kiev, short ribs, etc. Really amazing food. Impeccable, yet relaxed service. Expensive, but pretty incredible.”

“Quiet intimate setting with a really interesting and unique menu. The staff are super friendly and helpful too.”

“We came from out of town to experience this restaurant and it was incredible! The food, the service and the ambiance were all amazing!! If you haven’t given it a try I highly recommend you do so immediately. We will be back!!!”

“We had a very lovely dinner at Anelya. They suggest that you share 2-3 plates per course, but we ordered under that amount and were still very full. For their appetizers, they had a nice little tray with all of the appetizers displayed so you could see them and pick them in person. I really enjoyed both the presentation and taste of the Trout Roe Tart. The Poltava Halushki was good, but my boyfriend got the Lokshyna, which was the real star of the show, I had to keep stealing bites, it was very rich and creamy. By the time our Crayfish Holubtsi and potato pancakes came, we were already very full. Somehow my boyfriend still had space for dessert and got the Medovyk cake, which very yummy. It had a great texture, tasted pleasantly of honey and was not too sweet. Overall, a great dinner experience and one that I would recommend checking out if you're from out of town!”

“After years of hearing about this restaurant, I finally made it into Anelya. We were seated quickly in their unique dining room. We then had the unique experience of having all our “zakusky” (appetizers) rolls on a cart for our choosing. We picked out the Bread, Trout Roe Tart, Hokkaido Herring, and the Marinated Mushrooms. By far the best item was the Trout Roe Tart which just melts in your mouth. We then finished out the night with the Mushroom Yushka and the Varenyky. All of which was really good and paired with great service. We will back back!”

“Came here for a birthday dinner a few weeks ago. We were looking for the honey cake, which was delicious, and were pleasantly surprised that every other item we ordered was equally tasty. This menu is so well thought out and creative, with quality ingredients and excellent flavors. On top of that, the service was spectacular and the prices were very fair for such a wonderful experience. Would recommend Anelya to anyone looking for a quality, comforting, and incredibly pleasant dinner.”

“I had a solo dinner at Anelya and it was amazing! 😋 Started with the egg mayo + trout roe tart 🥚🐟 – creamy, rich, and the perfect bite to kick things off. The poltava halushki (soft, pillowy dumplings) were total comfort food 🥟, and the chilled kefir soup 🥒 was so refreshing in between. The holubtsi (stuffed cabbage rolls) were tender and full of flavor – easily a highlight. I couldn’t skip a cocktail and went for the Blind Beauty – a horseradish vodka martini 🍸🔥. Bold, smooth, and super unique – I’d come back just for that. Even dining solo, the vibe was cozy and welcoming. The staff made me feel totally at home. Left full, happy, and already planning my next visit.”
