Asian Cuisine Express
Asian Cuisine Express — straightforward mexican in Little Village. The decor hasn't changed, and it doesn't need to. Service that's warm without being over the top. Nickolas Demertzis: "The Al pastor was well seasoned, had a great crust and was covered with cilantro, onion and fresh pineapple" [$$]

“I kept hearing about Asian Cuisine Express so I wanted to check it out for myself. At first I was honestly confused because I couldn’t tell if it was supposed to be Asian food or Mexican food. Turns out it’s both, and somehow it actually works really well together. I walked in and see Chinese decor everywhere, but then right in the middle of the kitchen there’s a trompo spinning with al pastor, incredible. The staff was really nice too. I wasn’t even sure what to order because there were too many things that sounded good. We ended up getting the General Tso chicken, shrimp, al pastor, and the asada tacos. Honestly we ordered a lot, but worth it. The tacos are on the smaller side, but they’re packed with flavor. Every single one was good, but the asada tacos easily stole the show for me. The steak was super tender and juicy with this smoky grilled flavor that hit right away. It had that savory beefy taste from good carne asada, but then there was this slight sweet and garlicky flavor mixed in that reminded me of Chinese stir fry in the best way possible. The seasoning was crazy good too. Salty, smoky, little hints of soy sauce and spice all blended together. Every bite tasted like Mexican street tacos and Chinese takeout somehow had a baby. Definitely coming back for those asada tacos again.”

“Simply Wow!!! The Al Pastor best in the city and the Al pastor fried rice is just out of this world. Filled with meat and pineapple. This place is unreal. Steak taco was on point and the shrimp taco had an Asian flare to it. Just perfect.”

“Oh my god, I tried the famous A1 pastor fried rice and if was SOOO good. Very much worth coming down here!! And you get so much for an amazing price! Definitely recommend trying if you haven't yet! 👍”

“I headed to Asian Express in Chicago fully knowing they had tacos, and I was there specifically for the al pastor taco I’d heard about. The taco didn’t disappoint, one of the best in Chicagoland. The steak taco was decent, but the real surprise was their al pastor fried rice, delicious! Don’t forget to ask for the homemade chili oil. It elevated the whole dish. If you’re up for a unique twist, this spot delivers. I’ll definitely be coming here again!”

“Really good pastor. Prices were reasonable. Other options available as well.”

“This place is incredible. Monday has their $1.50 per taco Al Pastor Taco deal and it’s phenomenal. Their Agua Fresca selection was robust and the Passionfruit + Limon Pepino (Cucumber Lemon) was delectable. Our server Lucy was very personable, knowledgeable, and funny! There was no wait when we came in at 5:30pm but a line as we left after 6:45pm. Get yourself to Asian Cuisine Express early and on a Monday - you’ll be glad that you did.”

“$1.50 Alpastor Tacos on Mondays. So worth it, costumer service is so friendly. So fast. Excellent choice of salsas.”

“Saw the restaurant all over social media stating this Asian restaurant has the best Al pastor tacos and fried rice. Couldn’t believe what I was hearing, Al pastor trompos at a Chinese restaurant? BELIEVE IT!! I went & had the best time. The food was so well done both cuisines!! Friendly staff & they were so busy!! People waiting 2hrs for a table. Well deserved recognition.”
