“Really good weekend thali.”
Really good weekend thali. We also ordered benne dosa which tasted good. We were seated pretty quickly even though it was a Saturday afternoon, and we got the food pretty fast too. Preeti, our server, was really responsive

“Great restaurant serving authentic vegetarian South Indian fare.”
Great restaurant serving authentic vegetarian South Indian fare. We had ordered a thali, paneer tikka dosa, and idli wada combo. All dishes were delightfully prepared, and we could feel all the different flavours, and spices used. The service was quick, and efficient, and Rushi, our server, was kind, prompt, and well-informed. Would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for authentic South Indian fare.

“I recently visited a South Indian restaurant, and the experience was absolutely wonderful.”
I recently visited a South Indian restaurant, and the experience was absolutely wonderful. The food was amazing—we ordered chole bature, dosas, and thatte idlis, and every dish was packed with flavor. Each category of the menu offers around 20 options, giving plenty of variety to choose from. The atmosphere is beautiful, perfectly capturing the essence of South India, with a warm and welcoming vibe that enhances the dining experience. On top of that, the service was attentive and efficient, making the overall visit even more enjoyable. I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to enjoy authentic, delicious South Indian food in a charming setting with excellent service.

“"I recently visited Simply South and I’m still recovering from the size of their 70mm dosa.”
"I recently visited Simply South and I’m still recovering from the size of their 70mm dosa! I’ve been to many South Indian restaurants, but this was easily the biggest one I’ve seen until now. It was perfectly crispy and delicious, not just a gimmick. The food here is always authentic and fresh. Highly recommend trying the 70mm if you have a big appetite!"

“Great food but very expensive.”
Great food but very expensive! This place was an absolute surprise. I’m a south Indian and I make very good food myself so most places I go to I end up getting disappointed so we entered this place skeptically. The Neyyi Karam masala dosa was fantastic as was the 3-in-1 idli and the Neyyi Pongal. We ended with Gajar halwa and filter coffee. I’m very happy with the quality of South Indian food. The decor in the restaurant is very taste fully done and we had great service from Madhuri and Harshini. This said it's $18 for a dosa, $6 for a filter coffee. Had the prices been more reasonable we would have come back again. I doubt we will return. Doesn't take away from the quality of food though.

“Simply South in Warrenville, IL delivers a bold and flavorful South Indian experience, especially...”
Simply South in Warrenville, IL delivers a bold and flavorful South Indian experience, especially for those who enjoy traditional ghee-based dishes and regional spice profiles. The meal opened strong with their idly selections—Guntur Ghee Kaaram and Ulavacharu Idly stood out for their rich aroma and comforting texture. The ghee was generously used, enhancing the softness of the idlies, while the karam brought a slow, warming heat rather than overwhelming spice. The Ulavacharu versions leaned more earthy and deep in flavor, making them especially satisfying. Their Thatte idlies and button idlies showcased good variety. The Nellore Ghee-Kaaram and Guntur styles were bold and spicy, with the fried button idlies offering a nice crisp exterior balanced by soft insides. These dishes were clearly meant for spice lovers, yet the ghee helped mellow the heat and kept the flavors well rounded. Breakfast classics like the Ghee Cashew Khara Ven Pongal were comforting and mildly spiced, with cashews adding richness without overpowering the dish. The vegetable uthappam was softer and lighter, while the Nellore Ghee-Kaaram Masala Uthappam leaned spicier and more indulgent. Onion Chilli Pullattu added a pleasant crunch and heat, making it a nice change from the softer items. Dosa lovers have plenty to enjoy here. The Ghee Karam Masala Dosa and Nellore Neyyi Kaaram were flavorful with a strong ghee presence and a satisfying spice kick. Ulavacharu Dosa and Spring Dosa offered deeper, tangy flavors, while the Narasaraopet Spicy Masala Dosa truly lived up to its name with intense heat and bold seasoning. The Chettinad Veg Dosa had a distinct aromatic spice blend, giving it a slightly different regional character. Onion Chilli Dosa balanced spice with crispness, making it easy to enjoy despite the heat. For North Indian options, the Chole Bhature was hearty and filling, with well-spiced chole and fluffy bhature. Paneer Tikka was nicely grilled, smoky, and moderately spiced, pairing well with the soft butter naan. These dishes offered a comforting contrast to the ghee-heavy South Indian items. Desserts and drinks rounded out the meal nicely. The falooda was rich and cooling, perfect after the spicy mains, while the sweet lemon drink was refreshing and light, helping cleanse the palate. Overall, Simply South shines with its ghee-based dishes, regional karam flavors, and dosa variety. Spice levels range from mild and comforting to boldly intense, making it a great spot for those who enjoy authentic South Indian heat with depth and richness.

“Been there when they newly opened and just recently.”
Been there when they newly opened and just recently. The kept the standard pretty consistent. The tiffins are really good the assortment of chutneys they offer is their signature flare. The sambar by itself stand up to the chutneys 😆. The thali was equal halfs exciting and disappointing. Not a big fan of their online wait-list experience but expect a wait time. The waiting area is very small but they have ample parking. The wait staff was quick to serve and checked up on us pretty frequently.

“Simply South never disappoints.”
Simply South never disappoints. There is always a wide variety of dishes, and we discover something new every time we visit. The kids complain that we come here so often, but the mention of falooda or ice cream quickly wins them over.

“We had an amazing experience at Simply South.”
We had an amazing experience at Simply South! Every dish we tried was flavorful and comforting in the best South Indian way. The thatte idly was soft and perfectly steamed, the benne dosa was crisp with that rich buttery finish, and the jackfruit biryani was a delightful surprise—fragrant, hearty, and absolutely delicious. The gongura and muddapappu rice combo was pure nostalgia, packed with authentic Andhra flavors that made the whole meal feel like a warm hug. A big shoutout to our server, Maggie, who made the experience even better. She was attentive, friendly, and made great recommendations throughout our meal. Highly recommend Simply South if you’re craving genuine South Indian flavors! 🌿🥥🍽️

“One of the best restaurants in Illinois.”
One of the best restaurants in Illinois. Easily. The menu is so vast it’s truly a fun experience trying different menu items and I’d say Every dish I tried was an A+. 100% recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to try something different from an established and top 50 in the nation (Indian) restaurant. The entire staff from my entrance to exit was cool and friendly- an excellent experience with 0 issues. Try this restaurant out and it is certainly going to be crowded so making a reservation is probably for the best! Enjoy and rock on my friends! A+ Certified!

“This is our second time here and the ambience is welcoming and quite bustling almost always during weekends.”
This is our second time here and the ambience is welcoming and quite bustling almost always during weekends. All the items we had were good. We tried the following. Weekend Thali: 7.5/10 (has huge variety) Benne masala dose: 8/10 (quite heavy with butter) 3 in 1 idly: 7/10 Chole Bathure: 6.5/10 Will certainly visit again. It can get a little expensive but the quality of food speaks for itself.
