Shoo Loong Kan Hotpot — a Chinatown chinese mainstay. Buzzy, energetic room where the crowd adds to it. Traditional preparation with honest flavors. Moves fast. Adam Schawel: "Everything was super fresh and the staff is very friendly and efficient"

“The blend of great services, traditional ambiance, unforgettable flavors, and reasonable prices positions this establishment as a great option for those in pursuit of an authentic Chinese hotpot immersion”
Was there couple weeks ago. Hotpot was ok, good interiors design. Average service.
I recently visited Shoo Loong Kan Hotpot and had an extremely disappointing experience.

The food was really delicious and it had a cute atmosphere , it was our first time experiencing hot pot and we didn’t know how to order. One of the kitchen workers helped us out on ordering. I definitely recommend this restaurant to family members and friends who go to Chicago to go eat there.

“Great ambience and setting in what is otherwise a very busy area.”
Great ambience and setting in what is otherwise a very busy area. Has a good variety of meat options for the hot pot and is easy to order. The servers are polite and respectful and the place is clean. The taste per se could be slightly better though of the meat options. I rate it four star only because there are better hot pot options out there but again you would have a good experience here too.

“First time ever dining at this type of restaurant.”
First time ever dining at this type of restaurant. My husband and I really enjoyed the food and service. It was a little overwhelming to gobin blind without knowing what to do. But the staff was kind and answered all of our questions. We ordered to brother. One spicy and one mild. I usually like spicy food, but had to take a break. The spicy was spicy!💥🔥🔥 For meats we orded wages, garlic chicken, and shrimp. We ordered broccoli and noodles as well. Very tasty meal and great date night idea.

“Lovely aesthetically decorated spot for authentic hot pot.”
Lovely aesthetically decorated spot for authentic hot pot! We were seated right away, the booths are somewhat private and have nice tall partitions. The waiters were mostly hands-off which is fine, we just ordered via the tablet but they often walked by so it felt like they were available should we need them. Don't forget to assemble your own dipping sauce at the sauce bar while you wait for the food to come out. Extremely generous portions, we ended up ordering way too much lol but everything was delicious! Spent about $50 for two people. Highly recommend their tomato based broth or the mushroom one. We keep talking about "next time"! 😁

“Really good hotspot place.”
Really good hotspot place. The soup is so flavorful and yet no msg (I didn’t get cotton mouth after eating here) the meat is fresh and lots of soup options as well as warm appetizers like egg rolls etc. I must say this restaurant is so much better than Happy Lamb Hotpot… oh ya they also validate the parking across the street.

“This is currently my favorite hot pot place in the city.”
This is currently my favorite hot pot place in the city! The interior was very cozy and the service was great. The waitress helped us choose the correct spice level for our group, which was definitely appreciated! We were able to walk in as a group of 4 with no wait on a Friday night. The dishes were a la carte and they didn’t charge extra for the sauce station, which some other places in town do. The broth was very flavorful and the food was all fresh and delicious. Note they don’t have a bar. We’ll definitely be back to this gem of a restaurant!

“Shoo Loong Kan Hotpot in Chicago’s Chinatown offers an authentic and flavorful Sichuan hotpot experience.”
Shoo Loong Kan Hotpot in Chicago’s Chinatown offers an authentic and flavorful Sichuan hotpot experience. The broths, especially the spicy house chili and pork bone, are rich and delicious. The ingredients, like A5 wagyu beef and fresh seafood, are top-notch. The sauce bar allows for perfect customization, and the service is attentive and friendly. The lively atmosphere and beautiful decor make it a great spot for any occasion. Highly recommended for hotpot lovers!

“This unique establishment is an experience you can’t miss.”
This unique establishment is an experience you can’t miss! We had never been to a hot pot, but had been suggested it by friends. The restaurant created a great atmosphere and had a large selection on their menu. We do wish the staff had provided just a little bit more instruction as we did inform them multiple times that it was our first experience. Overall we would go back in a heartbeat, especially for the price! The mushroom broth is great! Be sure to visit their customizable sauce station!

“The broth was so satisfying and bussin for those who has taste buds for spicy and mala.”
The broth was so satisfying and bussin for those who has taste buds for spicy and mala. All the meat and veg were fresh and came in good portions. Me and my friends enjoyed the pork brain a lot at the end. We could brought the leftover soup back too. And funny part is we had to wait 30 mins and they gave us one free premium beef plate. That is for everyone who had to wait for 30 mins to get the table or something more for 1 hr awaiting time, isn’t it kinda a cool service.
