Penny's Oak Park — straightforward chinese in Forest Park. It has that lived-in, been-here-forever warmth. Not your typical menu, in a good way. White Knight: "Perfectly cooked, they absorb the rich flavors of the broth while retaining their own unique texture"

“In a world where fast food often trumps quality, Penny’s Noodle Shop stands out as a beacon for well-prepared, healthy, and downright delicious fare”
I ordered chicken soup and received a container full of noodles not even a cup of broth. I am battling the flu.
Unfortunately really disappointing food (we did takeout). Several better Thai places around.
Have ordered online and done pick up from Penny’s a few times before. It had always been solid.

“Game went from 2p start to the right at 4p.”
Game went from 2p start to the right at 4p. Got to the Ivy Parking lot at 2:30p and walked across the street to Penny’s Noodle Shop to wait out the heavy downpour. It’s right under the L train. Ordered some ramen because it’s ramen weather and green Thai beef curry since I haven’t had some in awhile. Hopefully this weather lets up by 6p. What turned out to be a day game looks to be a night game. First one at Wrigley. To my stepdad Robert VOELKER, wish you were here but ty for having the big guy stop the rains.

“Couldn't get a picture of the food because it is way to darn good.”
Couldn't get a picture of the food because it is way to darn good! Started going to Penny's when they opened in Bucktown/Wicker Park area and still coming to the Harlem location today. Love, love, love their food! Tried a variety but my favorite is the hot pepper noodle with chicken. However, I substitute my noodles for vermicelli noodles instead of the wide ones. Absolutely one of my favorite dishes and you will not be disappointed. Highly recommend the beef salad as well. IF YOU HAVE YET TO TRY PENNY'S, GET IN THERE TODAY, YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOUR MISSING!

“Penny's Oak Park although mostly known for noodles, boasts a variety of Asian inspired cuisine.”
Penny's Oak Park although mostly known for noodles, boasts a variety of Asian inspired cuisine. Sushi burritos, Ramen and Stir fried dishes for the menu. Family ordered Ramen bowls, Crazy Noodles with Beef and Vietnamese fresh Vegetable rolls. All were very tasty. They offer a few domestic and imported beers and had a Singha from Thailand which pairs great with spicy food. Penny's Oak Park is family owned and costs a bit more but makes up in quality, tasty ingredients and fast friendly service

“If you're in search of comfort food that doesn't compromise on quality, Penny’s Noodle Shop is the place to be.”
If you're in search of comfort food that doesn't compromise on quality, Penny’s Noodle Shop is the place to be. A standout on their menu is the chicken soup, a heartwarming bowl of culinary perfection. The soup is generously filled with tender chunks of chicken, and the freshness of the veggies is evident in every spoonful. The portions are satisfyingly large, ensuring that you won't leave hungry. The noodles in the soup deserve a special mention. Perfectly cooked, they absorb the rich flavors of the broth while retaining their own unique texture. It’s clear that the ingredients are top-notch and that great care goes into crafting each bowl. In a world where fast food often trumps quality, Penny’s Noodle Shop stands out as a beacon for well-prepared, healthy, and downright delicious fare. Highly recommended for anyone looking to satiate their soul as well as their stomach.

This is our 3rd or 4th visit to Penny's because it's down the road from us, and our favorite hot soup joint is miles away!We asked for some Vietnamese spring rolls, which were tasty for having noodles and vegetables in them, personally it would have tasted better with some pork in them but what do i know! I went with The Penny Pho, and the broth was average, and the bowl was at most a medium in temperature! The beef was tasty, and the noodles were good 👍 The fried rice we ordered was hotter than my pho!, but I mixed in my jalapeños and hot sauce, and before I knew it it I had finished my bowl My wife ordered the egg Noodles with sautéed chicken, and she was disappointed because the chicken was dry! Which only means one thing! We tried several dishes on the menu, and it's average, but they been around since 1991 .

Well last I went to Penny's noodles shop was so long ago when they used to be in Wicker Park which became another decent Asian fusion restaurant called Urban Belly but not as good as Penny Noodles. I was on a budget again and wanted to try something different in Oak Park, IL. I started with Thai Iced tea and now wanted to eat pork lard bar and thick pan fried noodle dish. I had forgotten that this was a Thai restaurant but nevertheless I love Thai cuisine. Was not expensive. $9 for pork lard nar and $3.50 I think for Thai Iced Tea which was very unique ly sweet compared to other Thai Iced teas I've had I think this was the best one! About to eat there lard nar which is also unique delicious because the pan fried noodles they use is like chewing in a Hallow crunchy, toasty noodle than your traditional lard nar that doesn't taste that way. It is a unique experience that I forgotten but had now remembered why I like coming here before they left Chicago wicker Park to move out to Oak Park Illinois. The lard nar noodles is more of a preference some people might not like the toasty noodles textured but I like it. I would suggest people to come try Penny's noodles if they're around Oak Park
