MCCB Chicago — a Chinatown chinese mainstay. The space has a modern, polished edge. The food tastes like it should, with no compromises. Affordable. "The spicy dumplings might be the best I have ever had" — C W

“This was a random find during our trip to China Town in Chicago.”
This was a random find during our trip to China Town in Chicago. Was initially planning to have food at a nearby restaurant but saw the amount of people going in so decided to try it out. Literally no regret. The food was exceptionally good. Probably the best Chinese food I’ve had in Chicago. We had the Beef Honey Pepper and the Chicken Chilli Dry (might not have the right names for the dishes). It’s definitely a place I’d recommend visiting for food. Also the vibe there is great.

“Finally tried this place after it’s been on my list for a while, and it did not disappoint.”
Finally tried this place after it’s been on my list for a while, and it did not disappoint. There was about a 30 minute wait for our table of 5 and there was a $10 payment to join the waitlist. We ordered a variety of dishes (garlic green beans, kung pao tofu, honey pepper short rib, and some more beef stir fry dishes) and everything was very good! As others have said the portions are massive so it’s better to go the sharing route for dishes. The menu is also gigantic so lots of options to try.

“Outrageously delicious!”
Outrageously delicious!! An overwhelming menu selection of traditional Chinese cuisine. The green bean vegetable side was highly flavorful and made with a large amount of garlic and oil. The honey pepper beef rib was also a great choice although the meat quality was low. The service was fast and the portions are large.

“fast attentive service!”
fast attentive service!! first time visiting and i will be back next time i visit chicago! the seating is very close to each other but food wise the hong shao rou was so juicy and flavorful i can see why this restaurant has the top ratings and has so many awards. mapo tofu, i asked for extra spice, and it felt glassy, soft, and fragile, tasted great. the last dish special moo shu in vinegar sauce had bamboo shoots, sliced pork, zucchini, wood ear mushroom, egg, the combination was amazing

This spot in Chicago’s Chinatown was an excellent experience! The service was quick, and the food was incredibly good. If you’re in the area, I definitely recommend checking it out. Try ordering a variety of dishes to share so you can sample a little bit of everything, you won’t be disappointed!

“Tucked away in Chicago’s Chinatown is a restaurant you must try.”
Tucked away in Chicago’s Chinatown is a restaurant you must try. Recommended by friends, MCCB is a Michelin-star Chinese restaurant that we decided was our BEST meal in Chicago (and that is saying something). We seriously debated going two nights in a row - it was that good. They have maybe ten tables total in this little restaurant within a Chinatown strip mall. You have to put your name in, and hold your spot with $10 (that is then applied to your meal). Is it all worth it, you ask? Yes and more. The dishes came out hot, flavorful, and well worth the hoopla. Additionally, we were stunned at the affordable cost. We ordered the garlic green beans, the cheng du style dumplings with sweet sauce, the dry chili chicken, chow mein.

“Great food at great prices.”
Great food at great prices. The waiting time on the weekend can be timely but it is definitely worth it. The menu here has a lot of options so my recommendation to anyone going is to try and order multiple dishes and share amongst the table.

“Just finished my Lunch here and let me say this I was not left disappointed, this place was just...”
Just finished my Lunch here and let me say this I was not left disappointed, this place was just delicious and affordable too. Now for my ratings: We ordered some spicy dumplings and they were delicious and semi spicy eatable and enjoyable while having a slight kick to it giving this rating a solid 8.9/10. We then ordered some Fried Calamari and it was not too bad it had a really good flavor it did feel like it was missing a sauce on the side but overall it was a good bite giving it a good 7.4/10. We ordered some Spicy Orange Chicken and I will say it tasted so fresh and it was by far the best Spicy Orange Chicken I’ve had it was crunchy but also the meat was soft and the sauce was amazing giving this a good 9/10 The last thing we ordered was the Honey Black Pepper Beef Short Ribs and they were absolutely delicious if you decide to eat here order the they are by far the best thing I ate here and soft and tender and it had such a delicious flavor making this a good 9.8/10 man they were good. Definitely will say this restaurant will have my rating of a good 9.8/10 definitely is in my top 5 places to eat.

“The resturant stays full.”
The resturant stays full. We had a 1 hour wait. It was well worth it. The service is friendly and efficient. The food was flavorful. The portions are huge enough to be shareable. The prices are very reasonable. It is a must try. I will definitely be a return customer.
