J'S Kitchen — reliable chinese in Naperville that keeps people coming back. No frills and no gimmicks, just a solid honest room. The menu goes beyond what you'd expect. Ritz Xu: "The meat is huge and tender, different than what I used to have but really tasty"

“Over all I love it and the service was ok but they only had one American waiter and he speaks Chinese but he's the most polite person and the owner should take notes and treat him right”
I really don't understand the high reviews. I got orange chicken and it tasted horrible.
Hi I deliver for GrubHub and I have issues picking up from your restaurant a lot where the order is not ready.

“A great hala Chinese restaurant option in Naperville, food was fresh and delicious.”
A great hala Chinese restaurant option in Naperville, food was fresh and delicious. For appetizer we ordered crab rangoon, BBQ chicken stick, chicken wings and for main course we ordered Signature Spicy Beef Noodle Soup, Sesame Chicken with Shrimp fried rice as a substitute and regular Chicken fried rice. Everything came out great. Service was also good. Food was fresh. Their coconut latte is also something you want to try. Definitely worth trying again. I would give a A+

“I am alone for the holidays and I wanted to start a new tradition for myself.”
I am alone for the holidays and I wanted to start a new tradition for myself. So I went here. My first time trying J's Kitchen did not disappoint. The meal was DELICIOUS and came in massive portions. The service, well that's a different story. You will see my 3 stars for service. That is likely generous. But it is well deserved. I would say by default the service warrants only 1 star. But the waitress? She is also the hostess. And the busser. She is doing 3 jobs with little to no support. J's Kitchen is not lacking in service because the service staff is on their phone or otherwise could care less. It is lacking because 1 person is set on a monumental task that dooms her. She is drowning in the demands, ill trained to address them, and otherwise unsupported. I felt an urge to assist her, not just with my lonely table but with all of the tables. Many other tables were full of life. I don't hold it against them that they did not do their part to make her life easier. But they should have. The tables of every other patron were left a mess that required many minutes to clear and clean. I guarantee it only took her 1 minute to clear and clean mine. Life as we experience it necessitates context. It is a holiday for many Americans. We let our world grind to a bit of a halt. And still we expect others to serve us. Maybe, just maybe: we ought to serve them. J's Kitchen gets 5 stars. Not because it is perfect. But because it is among the most human place I've experienced in my 3 years down here.

“I legit loved this place.”
I legit loved this place. It’s hard to find Halal Chinese food in Chicago that’s not indo Chinese. The Sichun noodle soup was the best and it was so hearty and filling. It was so authentic and felt like I took a flight to China myself. Would def come here again if it was closer to where I live.

“Well this was my business stop 1st time and I was blown away.”
Well this was my business stop 1st time and I was blown away! The beef noodle soup was just perfect and the flavors is just is awesome, noodles was cook right and the beef tendon is so perfectly cool and it melts in your mouth! The spring roll is just traditional perfect! They actually saute the stuffing and the flavor is just full of taste and usually typically Chinese restaurant they all use the prepackage but not here! Over all I love it and the service was ok but they only had one American waiter and he speaks Chinese but he's the most polite person and the owner should take notes and treat him right. I could of complain but I understand so I just felt bad for the poor guy running like a house and that way I'll going a 5 stars. Over all this place would not be missed and if I was local they will definitely be my go too!

“A small local family run Asian restaurant.”
A small local family run Asian restaurant. Excellent, hearty, flavorful and delicious food. The Js signature spicy beef noodle (N1) is a must!!!! A generous portion. The pan fried chicken dumplings are a great appetizer. We tried the orange chicken and you can taste the natural orange zest with each bite. Very friendly and kind service. Reasonable prices. Their hot sauce with sesame is so unique. Halal- HFSAA certified ☪️

“I’d give this place 10 stars if I could - I can’t believe it’s taken me THIS long to eat at this joint.”
I’d give this place 10 stars if I could - I can’t believe it’s taken me THIS long to eat at this joint! We ordered SO much food because I just could not decide what I wanted. So here are all the things we ordered: Lamb Soup with Handmade Bun - the broth is clear, and mildly flavored. This is NOT for the folks who are looking for the fiery sichuan peppers. This is a comforting, homey type lamb soup that shines in its simplicity. The radishes in it add a nice bite, and the herbs it’s garnished with add a fresh pop of flavor. The handmade bun is bland, but soft and chewy, and what you’re really supposed to do is pull the meat off the bones, stick them inside the bun with the chilli crisp provided and you have a xian bing!!!! It was DELICIOUS! Chicken in Sichuan Sauce - for those looking for the fiery kick of sichuan peppers, this one is for you. Even then, it’s relatively mild. But EXTREMELY flavorful. The sauce is not so much a sauce as it is a poaching liquid that pairs REALLLLLLY well with white rice. This was a delight to the mouth. Pepper Chicken Fry - this is more along the lines of the commercial Chinese food we ordered in its look and consistency, but the flavor was amazing and unique. My husband I absolutely loved it. The egg fried rice we ordered with it was simply divine! We also ordered the chicken dumplings, the filling is very plain but flavorful. And we also ordered the crab rangoons - the filling is delicious, not too sweet just perfect! The BEST part of the meal, for me, was the pot of green tea we ordered. It was the PERFECT accompaniment to our meal. Our server was super helpful, and answered all our questions with a smile! Please keep in mind that this is a Northern Chinese joint, I believe (correct me if I’m wrong), and the food is meant to be flavorful, not overly salty and spicy. This is exactly what I would expect out of a northern Chinese restaurant! Loved it! Definitely coming back over and over again!

“Beef noodle soup!”
Beef noodle soup!! 🍜 trying new places can be challenging however the level of confidence increases when you find positive reviews… and yes, I loved it!! Perfect level of salt and great in the beef broth, and generous pieces of beef. I wouldn’t hesitate to come back to try other dishes. Give it a try, and share!!

You can find many Chinese restaurants that would prepare Halal food off the menu but it is very rare to find a Halal Chinese restaurant in the area. Not only do they serve Halal dishes but all of their menu items are also very authentic Chinese and delicious. And their noodle dishes are the bomb! I strongly recommend this restaurant whether you're looking for Halal Chinese food or not.
