Joy Yee — neighborhood chinese in Chinatown. Traditional preparation with honest flavors. Easy on the wallet, moves fast. Steve Sabu: "The beef was tender and well seasoned"

“The tapioca was made to perfection and perfectly sweetened”
This used to be my go to place but I was extremely disappointed after my recent visit with my family.
Place looks really good and has a lot of variety but my experience was not good.
The smoothies are made of fresh fruit but the syrup or whatever they add to the drinks made them taste artificial.

“This restaurant has both upstairs and downstairs seating.”
This restaurant has both upstairs and downstairs seating. Downstairs is more refined and decorated while upstairs is more relaxed and definitely family friendly. If you dine upstairs but enter from downstairs, you will have to walk up stairs in a backroom - which is fine, I'm just saying. The portions are huge and the food is delicious! Unless you're very hungry, you're gonna take home leftovers.

I was in Chinatown for a couple hours and tried as much food as possible while there. Joy Yee had the best boba I have ever tried. I had the Coconut Banana green boba and I absolutely loved it, delicious. Their pork/chicken dumplings were also pretty great. Service was excellent, everyone was nice and our order was out quickly. Wish I was able to try other things there but I’ll go back when in town again.

“Maybe the best service I've ever had a restaurant.”
Maybe the best service I've ever had a restaurant. They anticipated our wants before we even knew we wanted them. It was hot that day and boom - 2 tall glasses water almost as we sat down. The food came quickly, was authentic and delicious and reasonably priced. The bubble teas were so big they should have been a meal substitute, but so good I couldn't stop sipping!

We had to wait a little longer than i would have liked to order, but the food was great! The music (random US pop) didn't fit the atmosphere though.

“The food is delicious and definitely worth eating here.”
The food is delicious and definitely worth eating here. Their dishes are of good size, always keep the same flavor and the drinks are very tasty and have many flavors. The service is fast and in general the waiters are friendly. The prices are acceptable and they have a lot of tables to offer customers. Just keep in mind that during rush hour it is very crowded and sometimes you have to wait in line a bit and the bathrooms are not at their best when there are so many people.

“Fast, great choices, a thousand food items and in the heart of new Chinatown.”
Fast, great choices, a thousand food items and in the heart of new Chinatown. Parking is $3 if you dine in and you get validation. If you only order outside for takeout you have to spend $35 or more for parking validation that still costs $3 at the big lot.

“I recently had my first experience in Chicago's vibrant Chinatown, and it was nothing short of delightful.”
I recently had my first experience in Chicago's vibrant Chinatown, and it was nothing short of delightful! Though there was a bit of a wait to be seated, every moment was worth it. The food came out fresh and piping hot, and I savored some of the best orange chicken I've ever tasted—bursting with real orange flavor and made with quality chicken. I was so stuffed that I couldn't indulge in the boba this time, but I'm already planning my next visit!

“Amazing experience as usual.”
Amazing experience as usual. I’m a 30 plus year Joy Yee patron. My original go to is the Korean stone bowl, but this time we mixed it up a little. Good to get back to Chinatown and experience Joy Yee once again.

“Omg first off what a huge menu.”
Omg first off what a huge menu! They have everything from Thai to Vietnamese and Cantonese dishes I believe. I also saw plenty sushi options! I ordered Beef pho and Vietnamese ice coffee and the coffee was slightly bitter which I love, strong, creamy and delicious! My beef pho was huge, for 18.95 one person can easily eat a third and have two large takeaway containers worth, the pictures don’t do justice! I’d definitely recommend and will be coming back:)
