Dong bei Ren jia is a Chinatown favorite for handmade dumplings, beef cilantro pies, and especially pork-and-celery, pickled long-bean pork, and beef fried pancakes. Located upstairs in the 88 Market food court, it offers generous, piping-hot portions at old-school prices, with friendly staff and plenty for families or groups—but most dishes are made to order, so waits can reach 45 minutes during busy periods.

“I got the corn red bean and mushroom baos (two separate types) after being assured there were no meat products in either. It took some time for the food to come out but the man was super nice. The corn red bean wasn’t too sweet and my family devoured it. The mushroom bamboo one was super flavorful and I devoured those. Definitely hit the spot!”

“This was our first time here but it is 10/10. The staff was polite, helpful & kind. We had pork & celery pancakes which are hands down the best pancakes I have had in my life. Everything else will suffer in comparison lol. Absolutely must try!”
