I pays almost $20 for a Cuban sandwich and cafe con leche. The sandwich seemed small at first but it did NOT disappoint! At the end, I had a very happy tummy. The food was fresh and the coffee was nice and hot on this cold winter day. Seating is limited. Great sandwich. Totally recommend.

Cafecito in Chicago is an exceptional Cuban restaurant—a true hidden gem I discovered while strolling through the city. Once again, my intuition and senses didn’t fail me. This place is simply fabulous. The menu offers a great variety of choices, with traditional and healthy dishes full of flavors. What impressed me the most was the perfect mix of ingredients in the meals: rice with vegetables, perfectly roasted meat, black beans, and onions. I have a special love for black beans when they’re well-cooked, and Cafecito absolutely delivered. The fried plantains were also outstanding—perfectly cooked and delicious. The excellent quality of the food, combined with the reasonable prices, makes it an unbeatable experience. I’ll return every time I’m in Chicago. I even met some Chicago city staff who were having lunch there, and they told me, “This restaurant is a treasure.” And they’re absolutely rig

As a local small business in Chicago we love to explore and support other local small businesses and we couldn’t be happier we found Cafecito! From the moment you walk In there was a warm energy, amazing smells, and welcoming music. The cafe con leche was incredible as well at the ropa vieja plate! Growing up as a Cuban American myself it reminded me of my home cooked meals I grew up. We already cannot wait to be back to visit. I went here for breakfast and had a guava and cheese pastelito and a breakfast sandwich. I’m from south Florida and this is by far the best Cuban food I’ve had in Chicago. The pastry taste just like the ones I’ve had in Miami. I will definitely be going back.

This was our wild card spot for lunch today while at work and we were all pleasantly surprised. Amazing vegan options weren't even advertised on Google maps, so I wanted to give a big shout out as the beyond impossible sandwich was wonderful! I was literally lamenting about my favorite pressed sandwiches and Cubano Fair and wishing there were vegan options (outside of my own kitchen) and low and behold, Cafecito delivered. I went with a non-vegan who ordered off the vegan menu as well as someone with dietary restrictions who found it easy to order a custom sandwich. We grabbed it to go because the eat in area is small and it was lunch time, but we will be back soon! The service was very kind and there were awesome soda and coffee options to go along with a great quick lunch.

If you’re looking for some amazing sandwiches and customer service this is the place to go. When you walk in there are signs saying the best Cuban sandwiches in Chicago and I can vouch that this is a legitimate statement. In addition, Isabella was one of the nicest people I’ve met in the city, which made the experience that much better. I will be returning! I hope this place prospers and stays open. What a gem.
