Hash browns The cinnamon rolls were VERY large so splitting a meal and getting the cinnamon rolls as a side is very advisable

So good felt like I was eating a meal at my grandmas and the TWO cinnamon rolls with every meal that is ordered is the best part.

Ann Sather has been a Lakeview breakfast staple for a long time, and the cinnamon rolls alone have built a reputation that brings people back again and again. It's a classic diner setup, nothing flashy, just a warm room with friendly servers and a menu that leans into Swedish comfort food in a way that feels homey rather than novelty. We ordered the Swedish pancakes, thin and a little crepe-like, served with lingonberries that gave a tart contrast to the sweetness. The eggs Benedict was solid, properly poached eggs, good hollandaise, nothing fancy but well executed. And then the cinnamon rolls came, which is really what everyone is talking about when they bring up this place. They're soft, gooey, generously sized, and come as a pair with most entrees, so you end up with more than you bargained for in the best way. We also tried a breakfast wrap, loaded with eggs and vegetables, and it was filling enough to be the only thing one of us ordered. Coffee was hot and kept coming without us having to ask. The place gets busy on weekends, lines forming out the door at times, but the wait moves steadily and once you're seated the service is fast and attentive.

The service was amazing, everyone was so nice and had such good conversations. not only was the food delicious, but they gave very generous portions for a decent price. (strongly recommend trying the cinnamon roll, it’s one of the best i’ve ever had)

I squeezed in a walk before my flight from Chicago to find somewhere to lunch. On my walk, I passed the Chicago AIDS Memorial. I stopped to listen to some of the recorded stories from people affected by HIV while reading the plaques along the wall. One plaque in particular recognized Ann Sather Restaurants for its support of the community of people living with HIV. The stories were deeply moving, and after seeing that plaque I decided to continue supporting those who support our community by having lunch at Ann Sathers. I ordered the Southern Decadence, which was excellent. My waitress suggested one of their famous cinnamon rolls, and I’m glad I took her advice. It was incredible. The entire experience (the memorial, the stories of resilience and loss, the plaque recognizing community support, and the wonderful meal) left me feeling grateful and connected. It was yet another reminder of how communities come together to care for one another, especially during difficult times. As I wrap up this work trip in Chicago, I can’t think of a better way to end the trip than with that sense of gratitude, remembrance, and community.

Updating my review because we came again today and everything was even better!! The employees here are so freaking nice. When we came in we told the lady at the front that we had come yesterday and on our way out she said see you tomorrow. It’s crazy sh remembered because there are so many people coming through the doors here. There was also a table next to us where a kid drew a picture on the table mat and the server held it out for our table to see and said he was going to hang the beautiful picture up on the front door. Aside from the service the food was once again affordable and absolutely scrumptious. Our meal for two was $36 and came with so much food we were full until dinner. Amazing diner experience! Loved the croque madame over the corned beef hash but it was all still great. You get cinnamon rolls with pretty much all the plates which is crazy and then you get one more side as if that wasn’t enough!!!

Best place in Chicago for breakfast. Whether you want the Swedish pancakes with Lingonberries or my favorite; Salmon Dill Omelet, you must order a side of their famous Cinnamon Rolls.

Hands down the best cinnamon rolls I’ve ever tasted! They were served fresh and warm, and they were much bigger than I expected. I also tried the breakfast sandwich and really liked it. It was delicious. The restaurant has a great variety of breakfast options to choose from, and the atmosphere was wonderful. Our server was amazing, super attentive and friendly. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be back whenever I’m in the area!

Ann Sather Restaurant (Belmont location) did not disappoint! Apparently, I have been visiting Chicago for years and have not discovered this gem until recently. The waitstaff were very attentive. The menu was filled with interesting and tempting breakfast and lunch options. Most of all - the food was AMAZING! I have French Toast and it was some of the best I have eaten. My friend had the Swedish special and raved about it, as well. I am so glad I found this treasure of a breakfast/brunch/ lunch spot!

Pretty solid diner experience. From a European perspective, it’s solid American food. The portions are big and I am not accustomed to it. Nonetheless I would return

Espero 🙏 poder regresar algun dia.
