“We’ve lived not too far down Montrose from BienMeSabe Venezuelan Cafe and cannot believe this is our first visit! My husband is a bit more timid when it comes to new dining experiences so I did what I could to experience their menu. I started with the tostones y también tequenos, which we shared and they were delicious!! My husband ordered the pumpkin sopa. I tasted it and all the flavors of the soup just jumped off my tongue. Por supuesto, I had to order an arepa. So I ordered the caraquena arepa. It was incredible and huge!! I had two cups of their delicious chocolate toddy..I shared the second one with the hubby who is a chocoholic and he absolutely loved it! I highly recommend this place. The food, atmosphere and staff were amazing. When you go ask to be seated in Sara’s section-she was more than an A+!!! All in all, we will be back for their Wed arepa night. You simply cannot miss if you decide to dine here. If there were five more stars to give they certainly deserve them!! Sheilah, Irving Park”

“These 2 were favorites of my 7 year old daughter and just this past Wednesday we were disappointed to see that the menu changed and are no longer available. My daughter tried the replacement ceviche and she have it a HUGE thumbs down especially now that ginger is being used. The menu needs to state that ginger is an ingredient in the ceviche. 2026: I'm completely and totally shocked and disappointed to find this out. Well it turns out that the STAPLE of these restaurant's flavor and popularity turns out to be BioEngeneered corn meal, yes it's gluten free but with the worst form of corn that can be used in my opinion, the restaurant gloats the use of this product so much so that instructions on how to prepare this cornmeal are drawn on their montrose location walls. I believe that my family and I will have to look elsewhere for out empanada and arepa fix. 🤷”
