Bayan Ko Diner
Bayan Ko Diner — top-tier caribbean in Ravenswood. Casual, established, and unapologetic about it. They're doing something different, and it works. Bill: "I loved the Silogs with Bangus, featuring crispy, fragrant milkfish and deliciously rich garlic rice" [patio]

“Wonderful! The pork made me cry as it reminded me as the pork my nana used to make. From the moment you step in, the warmest face will greet you, the cafecito and the delicious guava mimosas set the mood, and the food will break and heal your heart. This is the place I’ll visit when I miss home from now on. Clean space with inviting decoration. Here, you can tell, even the music has been perfectly curated.”

“First time here food was delicious, great ambience and friendly staff.”

“Staff was extremely friendly and constantly checked in on us. Food was delicious! One of my favorite Filipino spots in Chicago for sure. Their ube pancakes are one of the first ones I've tried where it is not overwhelmingly sweet. The garlic rice was amazing!! I would definitely return and would love to try their dinner spot, Bayan Ko. I'd recommend making a reservation because they are pretty popular!”

“Walked in for lunch after my art class. They had brunch menu where everything look great. Went with the phaty melt and was pleasantly surprised how good it was. The fries that went with it were also amazing. Really want to try their other dishes and dinner menu.”

“Everything was amazingly good. We ordered the silog with longanisa, which was perfect, and the garlic rice was amazing! The sisig shishito hash was also very unique and had a lot of pork belly. The French toast almost tasted like donuts, and the cream cheese butter definitely added great flavor. I would definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a cute Filipino brunch spot!”

“Amazing, intimate space — every item is shareable from the empanadas &. wings, to the short ribs and pancit vegetarian noodles I would highly recommend.”

“Bayan Ko Diner was amazing! This Cuban-Filipino restaurant has a totally nice vibe, and the food fusion is interesting to say the least. The food is decently priced, and they have separate menus for brunch and dinner. The staff is polite, and the overall experience was great. I highly recommend this place for the food and will definitely be back for more! I had the half portion of lumpia, which was so good, and the Cubano burrito, which was amazing. For drinks, I had a virgin hibiscus, though that was just okay. A quick tip: definitely book a table ahead of time. The bar seating is very limited (I think only 7 seats) and they fill up fast. Also, don't leave without trying the ube ice cream - it is amazing! Food and Drink The fusion of Cuban and Filipino flavors here is a definite win. The Cubano burrito and the lumpia are must-tries and were the highlights of the meal. For dessert, the ube ice cream is fantastic. While the virgin hibiscus was just okay, the food more than made up for it. Noteworthy Details * Reservations: Highly recommended, as the space is popular and bar seating is limited to about 7 seats. * Menu: They offer distinct menus for brunch and dinner service. * Atmosphere: A very nice, welcoming vibe with polite and attentive staff. * Value: Decently priced for the quality and unique fusion experience.”
