Barcocina West Town — reliable mexican in West Town. Buzzy, energetic room where the crowd adds to it. Solid drinks, with the bar pulling its weight, and affordable. "Julian was the manager that was in charge of our event and was phenomenal" — Melissa Baez [$$, patio]

☀️Patio — a West Town classic in summer.

What a great night—awesome food, phenomenal service, and an enchanting setting in their igloo experience. Came here from out of state for my birthday, and I’m so glad we chose Barcocina! Best guac I’ve ever had (and I’m from Phoenix), and the cauliflower tacos knocked my socks right off. Julian the manager could not have been more attentive and kind. My partner and I are sober, so they gave us a pitcher of NA margs and a bucket of NA Coronas. Julian also surprised me with a gratis dulce de leche cake (this is a must-try btw), a candle, and a birthday song at the end of dinner. Honestly, blown away. Thank you for a great birthday, Julian and Barcocina friends!

The food and service is superb! Couldn’t stop eating the truffle street corn soon as it landed on our table. The atmosphere is perfect for a little group brunch. Savannah was the most wonderful server too! She was so attentive, friendly and kind; she made our experience 1000/10! Absolutely recommend this place for great food and vibes

We hosted our wedding reception here, and the service and food were outstanding. We had to order more food and extend the bar longer and they were quick and so helpful. Thank you to the Barcocina staff who helped us in our planning and decorating, and making this night very special for us. The managers, Jill and Jack, were amazing. They were able to bring in a TV for us, which meant so much since my brother was out of town playing football and they helped us stream the game. The bartenders were super friendly, and everyone in our party mentioned how great the staff and food were. We will come back often!!!

I came here a long time ago when it first opened and did not have the best experience food-wise, but the margaritas were great. Just gave this place another shot and enjoyed it THOROUGHLY! Guac was excellent with the corn, truffle and spice. Quesabirria was fantastic. And of course, the margaritas hit perfectly. We shared a pitcher of the house spicy. Didn’t plan on doing a review so am taking a photo of an almost empty pitcher. Worth the price. Great value!

Overall, the service was good. The food was great and the drinks were strong. The variety of food and drink options was wonderful. Our server, Illiyana (I’m sure I spelled her name wrong), was nothing but amazing. She was patient, attentive, and truly made the experience better for us. There were a few minor issues. Our reservation time was incorrect, and the staff expected us an hour later than scheduled, which meant the speaker was not charged or ready when we arrived. Also, it wasn’t really an igloo—more of a tent. Lastly, the bathroom went out, so we had to walk across the street to use the restroom. Despite these small hiccups, we still enjoyed ourselves and had a good overall experience.

I try not to share negative reviews often but I feel like this should be brought to a manager's attention. I went for Happy Hour on Thursday for a couple drinks and some tacos. I've been here before and the food is fine and the service has been lacking, but I didn't really care much today since I just wanted my tacos. The whole restaurant had about 5 tables including us during our time there - not busy at all. Our server came to our table four times - once to greet us without giving us the option to order drinks though we were ready, once to take our order, once to drop off drinks, another to drop off food. We had to ask her to come over to get our drinks in before happy hour ended since she didn't check in on us and ask her to come by again for our boxes since she didn't check in on us. She was sitting at the bar watching the game or on her phone. So service wasn't the greatest. Food and drinks were fine. I left the table while my husband paid the bill and he just went through the motions of it. The bill is a QR code on the table so again, the server doesn't have to come to the table. We were hit wtih a 3% surcharge that I've seen at other restaurants and I always ask for it to be removed since I know it's not going to pay for benefits of the workers, and COVID was over 6 years ago. It's a cash grab. The part that bothered me the MOST was a "Sunday Platform Fee", which came to $2.79. They charged ME $2.79 to check myself out, for their convience of my server not coming to the table, and for their restaurant to have this specific online checkout website. Overall, this came to $4.98 extra on our bill. In the grand scheme of things it's not about the amount, I just care that this is adding an extra $5 per every table that comes in and none of it gets passed as a better experience for the customer nor for the benefits of the workers. It's a BS fee. I wanted to talk to a manager about it, but there was no one to be found anywhere - no one at the host stand, and my server was watching the game so I couldn't ask her, so I waited there another 20 ish minutes after my bill was paid to see if anyone would check in on me. No one did. Barcocina, go cash only if the online platform is too expensive to where you need to charge your guests just to check out. Increase the price of your menu items instead of adding an arbitrary fee. I'll save my words for the service aspect. This is why people aren't eating out at restaurants like they used to.

We booked a table paid 45$ for the ticket and they sat us in the back area and you can’t even hear the music and it’s freezing
