Mi Tocaya Antojería — among the best mexican in Logan Square. The noise level tells you everything you need to know. Cocktail menu runs deeper than expected. Mike: "The nopal taco was very fresh, but also savory with the melted Chihuahua cheese"

“Without PBS cooking shows I would not have known about this incredible newer restaurant.”
Without PBS cooking shows I would not have known about this incredible newer restaurant. Tocaya did not disappoint in standing out and being different from other Mexican restaurants. Be prepared that the meals are priced higher than traditional Mexican restaurants with smaller portions. There was so many unique dishes to try, a sampler or fixed course menu could be useful. The fish tacos were the best dish ordered at the table.

“We've been here multiple times and have never been let down.”
We've been here multiple times and have never been let down. It's a great spot for every day dining but we especially love to bring out of town friends and celebrate special occasions here. The food is always top notch and so lovingly thought out. We routinely go to Michelin starred restaurants and Mi Tocaya is our favorite place to eat in Chicago. We recently went to their New Years Eve Pre Fixe dinner, something different than the normal menu. Chef Davila explained every dish and everything was a 10/10. We'll be back a million more times.

“The lobster enchiladas were tasty and unique, but the real standout was the salsa.”
The lobster enchiladas were tasty and unique, but the real standout was the salsa. Probably the best I’ve had in the city—if you’re like me and often find Chicago restaurant salsa mediocre, give this one a try! I look forward to returning, both to enjoy the salsa again and to try more entrees.

“What a perfect evening with such a wonderful team at the restaurant.”
What a perfect evening with such a wonderful team at the restaurant. Everyone was so welcoming and thoughtful with suggestions. Everything was delicious but the favourites were the pulpo (octopus) and the barbacoa tacos. Cocktails were delightful and they were very considerate about gluten free needs. The tortillas were heaven and the flan for dessert wrapped everything up perfectly. Highly recommend and top quality service.

“So happy to have finally tried this spot.”
So happy to have finally tried this spot! I’ve passed it for years and just never got around to it. It did not disappoint and the patio was a great dining experience even though it’s just off a busy street. I loved the chips and salsa, aguachile, and the octopus dishes.

“I was in town for the night and saw this on the Eater Chicago list.”
I was in town for the night and saw this on the Eater Chicago list. So glad I came here, the food was just phenomenal. I had the aguachile and chips n salsa to start. aguachile was just a fresh flavor bomb and just stunning, the salsa should be bottled. Then came the lobster/langoustine enchiladas, so much flavor and the blue corn tortillas were so soft yet the perfect amount of bite. Lastly was the tres leches cake, must try to end the meal. I like to consider myself a connoisseur of tres leches cake and this is one of the best, if not best ive ever had. The addition of milk chocolate was a surprise but absolutely worked. I can't say enough good things about this place and chef Diana & her team at Mi Tocaya. I can't wait to come back, everything was top notch

“BEST MARG IN THE CITY!!!”
BEST MARG IN THE CITY!!!! Wow. Fabulous time here! The food was incredible - amazing flavor, very authentic and unique. This is not a spot for chips and queso - this is very solidly Bib Gourmand! Also the wine selection was fabulous. Just ask the server what to get - can’t go wrong

“Easily the best burrito I’ve ever had.”
Easily the best burrito I’ve ever had! Excellent guac and chips. Tamal de Xocolatl dessert was interesting and I’m glad we tried it. Cute but hopping on a Saturday evening. Mi Tocaya lives up to the hype!

“Do yourself a favor and make a reservation.”
Do yourself a favor and make a reservation. If you like Mexican food and you want to see how these flavors can be incorporated in fresh creative dishes, you will enjoy the journey. The mole is one of the best in the city. Every plate had amazing flavor. Even vegetarian dishes that I normally wouldn't be excited about, left the table cleared. The black beans, which were recommended by the restaurant were probably the best I've ever had. We had a reservation for a large party and they knocked it out of the park. The service was top notch and they frequently checked in for new cocktails. Everyone in the group raved about this dinner.

“Mi Tocaya was always on our bucket list for restaurants to try, especially as we always drove past it to get to work.”
Mi Tocaya was always on our bucket list for restaurants to try, especially as we always drove past it to get to work. And so when we ate there we enjoyed it! Not only was the server amazing and super fun, the food that came out was just as fun! However, I will say that the appetizers we ordered were the best part of the meal. While the chicken was quite too salty… it was still pretty good! Would come back for special occasions, but as it is so busy make sure you make a reservation!
