“Irene is AMAZING. We went to her after she baked a delicious Tres leches for my birthday, and wanted to see if she could do a cake for our wedding. Irene made this process so much fun!! She brainstormed with us, shared a few ideas, and in the end, made a cake EXACTLY how we wanted. The cake was beautiful, and the most delicious wedding cake I ever tried. More important than her unquestionable abilities, it is how much she cares about her clients, community, and people. Irene became our friend, and we will never buy cake from anyone else!”
“My wife and I are new to the area and loved the sugary scent while we were doing laundry next door at Laundry Day. Headed over to Markellos and was blown away by the variety of delicious treats! Will definitely be trying out their larger cakes soon. Also on the savory side the Jalapeno Bolillo's are super filling and basically a whole lunch haha Love to see the fresh baking being done in the back, and the cashier, Lulu, is so nice and helpful too! Brand new parking lot is a lifesaver!”

“Small bakery with a big selection. The bakers there are very professional and they open early, very early. They sell coffee and diverse selection of pastries. Crossaints and Mexican sweet bread is what I go for every time. Everyone is so friendly and the aroma when you walk through the door is the best in the world in my opinion. Worth a visit if you're in the Albany park neighborhood looking for a treat.”

“This is my favorite bakery for sweet pastries in Albany Park, and they have a very wide selection to choose from. But also their savory pastries are wonderful and worth coming for on their own. The staff are always kind and considerate no matter how busy it is. I'm glad to have a bakery nearby that's open late since I'm a night owl. But I'm going to try to make it early one of these days for some of the savory treats that they evidently run out of very fast.”
