The cinnamon roll was different from any I had, it was very crispy/flaky and not a lot of cinnamon and it had a dab of lemon buttercream on top

Lost Larson (Andersonville) — trusted bakery in Andersonville. The design gives it a sharp first impression. They're doing something different, and it works. Bill: "The Cheddar & Kale Scone was another standout" [$$, patio]

A simple and cozy cafe in Andersonville! Lost Larson is a popular cafe and bakery in for good reason. The vibe is so warm and perfect for a warm day or to escape the cold. They offer up pretty standard pastries, but they are of the highest standard. I think they have my favorite kouign amann in the city. It’s incredibly buttery and is topped with flakes of sea salt that really elevate the taste, which I haven’t tasted on this pastry before. The caramelized sugary base is so crunchy, and the layers of dough are perfectly light. It’s simple, but it really delivers. I really enjoyed the cardamom bun as well. The cardamom flavor was so good—slightly citrusy and peppery. It was soft and crisp. Such great texture! Finally, the cinnamon roll was phenomenal. It’s made from the flakiest, sweet laminated dough and topped with the smoothest cream cheese frosting. The cinnamon flavor is potent, and the inside is so gooey and soft. It’s like if you took the gooey center of a cinnamon roll and wrapped it with a croissant. One of the best in the city for sure. I was pleased by the coffee here, too. My cortado was super smooth and rich. No bitterness at all. Lost Larson may not be as extravagant as some other Chicago bakeries, but I promise you won’t be disappointed if you’re looking for a reliable, high quality bakery!

Was suggested the cinnamon roll but I actually prefer the princess cake. A bit pricier but its perfect if you like things “not too sweet”

We got cinnamon rolls, chocolate croissant, lingonberry pastry, blueberry muffin, breakfast cookie and Princess cake. All are very good but you have to try the princess cake.

Absolutely delicious pastries and the coffee’s pretty good too! Not busy on a Tuesday morning. Very chill atmosphere but with incredible baked goods. Generally lighter fare but a few hearty options. No cash :(

Lost Larson has delicious pastries and really good coffee — they use Metric beans, so the quality is always great. It’s one of the coffee and bakery spots I often stop by since it’s close to where I live.

I was looking for a late morning coffee fix and found Lost Larson! It’s got a chill vibe with plenty of space to sit and sip or study. The pastries all looked so good and were huge! The cinnamon roll was different from any I had, it was very crispy/flaky and not a lot of cinnamon and it had a dab of lemon buttercream on top. It was new! The iced latte was so good and plenty caffeinated, it helped me get through the day! The cashiers were all very nice too. Next to a bunch of good shops and lunch options as well!

Pretty good pastries, latte was a bit watery somehow. Nice outside patio though!

Exceptionally high price $5 but not an exceptionally good plain croissant. I prefer Pflour'd on Bryn Mawr, whose prices are outrageous as well for something as simple and plain. If plain croissants can be bought in Paris for less than $2, there just is no justification for charging the price of an entire loaf of bread for 1 croissant. They also stop making the breakfast sandwiches at 12 Noon on a Sat???? That should be an all day offering. I am seriously thinking about starting a micro bakery to combat these high prices.
