Lost Larson (Andersonville) — trusted bakery in Andersonville. The design gives it a sharp first impression. They're doing something different, and it works. Bill: "The Cheddar & Kale Scone was another standout"

“The cinnamon roll was different from any I had, it was very crispy/flaky and not a lot of cinnamon and it had a dab of lemon buttercream on top”
Yesterday 1/20 I called asking about ordering a princess cake for 1/21.
Can’t tell you about the food. Went in to acquire a croissant bc I had heard good things on r/chicagofood.

Lost Larson has delicious pastries and really good coffee — they use Metric beans, so the quality is always great. It’s one of the coffee and bakery spots I often stop by since it’s close to where I live.

“I was looking for a late morning coffee fix and found Lost Larson.”
I was looking for a late morning coffee fix and found Lost Larson! It’s got a chill vibe with plenty of space to sit and sip or study. The pastries all looked so good and were huge! The cinnamon roll was different from any I had, it was very crispy/flaky and not a lot of cinnamon and it had a dab of lemon buttercream on top. It was new! The iced latte was so good and plenty caffeinated, it helped me get through the day! The cashiers were all very nice too. Next to a bunch of good shops and lunch options as well!

Tried some of the baked goods from Lost Larson on our walk around Andersonville. The almond croissant was a joy, very fresh, flakey and wonderful. My husband enjoyed his as well. There felt like plenty of seating and prices were affordable.

“Lives up to the hype.”
Lives up to the hype! My sister has been frequenting this bakery for years so I was excited to try it while visiting her. It was as amazing as she said! We tried multiple sweet and savory pastries and all were flaky and delicious!

“What a lovely little bakery.”
What a lovely little bakery! It was a quiet little modern space with friendly staff. The kouign-amann was to die for. Salty, buttery, sweet, & flakey!! It's one of the best pastries I've ever had, and I will be back for more. The croissant was good as well, however it seems like it was made of some kind of whole wheat recipe... which I'm not a fan of.

“The pastries are truly wonderful.”
The pastries are truly wonderful. I visited just before 9 am on a Sunday and was able to secure a table easily to enjoy my treats. The Cinnamon Roll was outstanding, with a perfect balance of sweetness and crispy layers. The Cheddar & Kale Scone was another standout, with a perfectly crispy exterior and a good blend of savory and fragrant.

Had jury duty so I stopped in for a quick coffee and croissant to go, but wish I could have stayed inside longer! The decor was fresh and inviting, the staff was kind and quick, the pastries looked and smelled phenomenal, and the coffee was great! Definitely a spot to check out again sometime soon!

“***UPDATE I’ve been back a few more times since my original review and the quality of the pastries has been consistent.”
***UPDATE I’ve been back a few more times since my original review and the quality of the pastries has been consistent. I came in around 10am on a Saturday and the place was bustling. There was a line out of the door and all the seats were taken. The Tebirkes are fantastic, as the layers are dense and the nuttiness of the pastry is a flavor I never expected to like but found myself wanting more. The Kale cheddar scone has such a complex, savory flavor and was delicious. The Kouign-amann is buttery, crunchy and sweet. The great food paired with quick service makes this the spot to get some morning pastries. original review - little bakery with rotating menu and fresh goods. cinnamon rolls are huge, and the hint of lemon in the icing added a nice dynamic to the flavor. it was fluffy but also dense. cardamom bun was good and chewy. a little pricey but i’d be interested in trying more.

“Lost Larson makes the most delicious pastries!”
Lost Larson makes the most delicious pastries!! We got the Almond Croissant, the savory Kale and Cheddar Scone, and the Quiche, all of which were delicious in their own way. The croissant is light and flaky with plenty of almond filling. The quiche was creamy and fluffy with a salty, meaty flavor and more filling than you would imagine. The scone was moist and full of flavorful. No wonder this place is always packed! Even though it was busy, the service is quick and welcoming and the quality is always top tier. I can’t wait to go back to Lost Larson!
