“I am from California, and travel to Chicago for business regularly. One of my coworkers introduced me to the chicken cutlet ceaser sub and i died in happiness. I am here this week (june 16-18) and this is my go to place, only to find out they are without power due to a storm. Not only did they move their operation to across the way, they went, literally, out of their way to make my sandwich (it was a limited menu because of the outage). While it wasnt the cutlet (grilled chicken instead) i just wanted to take a moment and share my gratitude and appreciation for you surpassing and going above and beyond for an out of towner. I just know everyone was stressed but you guys made me (and my team) important and that speaks volumes. Hoping the power comes back soon for you guys! Thank you again, it was, as always, absolutely DELISH!”

“Best bread, sandwiches and cookies in the Chicago area!”

“I primarily buy my bread & breaded chicken here, both are very good.”

“The best Bakery ever!!! D'Amato's bakery is a staple!! Everything is delicious!”

“Ordered a giant cannoli for my 30th birthday and it was perfect! Delicious and beautiful! Shop was packed on a Saturday morning.”

“This is everything you expect from a warm, family owned bakery. The cookies melt in my mouth. Should have spent more time in Chicago for the subs and baked goods of D'Amato!”

“Every great sandwich starts with great bread: crusty on the outside, soft and airy inside, sturdy enough to hold everything without getting soggy. Inside, layers of cured meats and cheese brought savoriness and richness while the hot giardiniera cut through them with its acidity and heat. It was delightfully messy but never sloppy. This is what I would call a perfect Italian sandwich: savory, fatty, tangy, and fresh.”

“Super friendly staff, the cookies taste very good the arancini was warm and delicious. My kids left very happy. We visited from Houston Texas super happy to find a good Italian bakery. Only had these photos we ate everything to fast.”

“We ordered the Italian sub chicken Caesar sub and they were both delicious. We’ll be back soon.”

“OMG-Been coming here for 30 years for bread and pizza but never had the subs. Kids brought a few different subs and each was better than the next. I still love Bari but the Chicken Caesar sub might be a top 5 sub any where. Highly recommend!!!!”

“D’Amato’s was slammed during my recent visit. It was the lunch rush during the holiday season, and D’Amato’s has so many delicious food on offer. Despite it being busy, the staff was welcoming and efficient. The only inefficiency came from indecisive customers. We came for sandwiches, Italian beef and tuna, but don’t miss out on their pizza too. Order it by the pie or the slice. You can carry out Italian classics too and of course their signature bread. Highly recommended.”

“A huge letdown, mostly driven by the fact they are in the middle of a renovation at their main location and pointed us to a spot across the street. The sandwich was excellent. The service was horrible - a table set up like a elementary school bake sale staffed by annoyed parents. . Only had cold or warm sandwiches, and only a subset of those. No coffee. Suggest you call to check if their renovations are complete before going.”
