Ann's Bakery & Deli
Ann's Bakery & Deli — straightforward bakery in Ukrainian Village. A holdout in the best possible way. The flavors don't apologize for being bold. "Best place to eat a hot Ukrainian meal and plenty of varieties of imported goods, fresh and great meat section" — Sg-O I [$$]

“Went there alone because was looking for cheap and authentic Eastern European cuisines for one. Really worth the travel. The borscht was the best I’ve ever had and it was a great deal with only 3.5 for 16oz. The Napoleon cake was really sweet but good and authentic with a citrusy flavor and flaky crust. Staffs were nice to me even though I didn’t speak any Ukrainian.”

“There are very few Ukrainian products in California. My family and I miss some of the dishes. While in Chicago, I found a wonderful store in the Ukrainian Village. My trip turned into a gastronomic tour. Pastries, bread, cakes and pies. Sour cream cake with cherries, cheesecake, dumplings, stuffed cabbage rolls, sausages, meat. Everything was fresh, freshly prepared, and most importantly, delicious, just like at home. The staff was wonderful, they greeted me with a smile and answered all my questions. The store is clean and smells of fresh baked goods. I will definitely return to Chicago just to eat the honey cake.”

“Хороший магазин с украинскими, российскими, польскими и другими продуктами. Широкий ассортимент товаров. Есть наши лекарства и травы. Также есть кухня и выпечка местного производства. Рекомендую”

“Great Ukrainian store. You can buy different food here: buckwheat, dumplings, sour cream.”

“Really enjoyed stopping in here, there’s a great selection of pastries and items from the deli along with a little market. The pierogis were very good, I brought quite a bit home for my mom and I. I wanted to check this place out because my best friend is part Ukrainian and want to bring her here. The potato pancakes were very good too, very filling. I got some chicken too which I enjoyed. There were quite a bit of pastries on carts but I couldn’t figure out if I was allowed to take them or not so I left them be but I wanna come back because the pastries look very good. Staff is friendly enough? I think they’re more welcoming to people who speak Ukrainian which is completely valid. They weren’t rude with me but they kinda just felt like they wanted to be done helping me and I felt bad. I’d still like to come in here though because I want to support smaller businesses and try other cultures cuisine. Would recommend I think just don’t take it personally with the staff”

“Great deli and warm prepared foods schnitzel and pierogies!”
“My favorite grocery store with very tasty foods! Highly recommend!”
