Enoteca Roma Ristorante — reliable italian in Wicker Park that keeps people coming back. Order the Gnocchi. Drink selection punches above its weight. Monisha P: "The arancini is one of the best I have had in Chicago"

“The Spaghetti Nonna Giovanna was easily one of the best pastas I’ve ever had”
A very unfortunate dining experience. The worst in recent memory.
I am writing this review to express my extreme disappointment with the way my reservation was handled by Enoteca Roma.

“I came here wanting the basics.”
I came here wanting the basics. You know like, mozzarella sticks, garlic bread, Alfredo, spaghetti & meat balls etc, etc. To my surprise they had none of that. However the kind waitress recommended other dishes and I was open to it. My son had the kids traditional spaghetti 🍝 (didn’t come with meatballs) and I tried the Penne arrabbiata (spicy marinara garlic mostaccioli with sausage chucks). It was really good. Honestly, if I would have checked out the menu before coming in, I probably wouldn’t have stopped here. But I’m glad I went in all gung-ho! It was a pleasant experience. The ambiance was peaceful, the waitress was super kind and the food was delicious.

“Hidden gem alert.”
Hidden gem alert! I can’t believe I just discovered Enoteca Roma—this place is a cozy Italian dream. First off, they do tableside polenta, and I don’t think I’ve seen that anywhere else in Chicago! Such a fun experience, and it was so creamy and delicious. For apps, we got the vegetarian arancini, bruschetta flight, and Pirada—all so good, but that bruschetta flight? A must. Everything was fresh and full of flavor. Now for the pasta… OH MY GOD. The Spaghetti Nonna Giovanna was easily one of the best pastas I’ve ever had. Simple, but the flavors were unreal. And the eggplant parm? Wow. Perfectly crispy, cheesy, and saucy—exactly how it should be. If you love eggplant parm, don’t skip this. We wrapped up with tiramisu and caramel cheesecake. I’m usually not a big tiramisu person, but this one was different—so light and creamy. The cheesecake was also a hit! Everything about this place is a vibe—cozy, charming, and insanely good food. I’d come back in a heartbeat!

“We come here ALL the time.”
We come here ALL the time! Great, easy, reliable Italian neighborhood joint. The backyard patio is VIBES. Highly recommend sitting back there if it's the proper weather/season. You can't go wrong if you get something off the menu or a special of the day. And we always have great service. You can come here with or without a reservation.

“This restaurant has the cutest back patio.”
This restaurant has the cutest back patio! Perfect for a romantic date night. The service was amazing, our server was very sweet and recommended great dishes. I also love that you can order half portion sizes so that you can try different dishes. The arancini is one of the best I have had in Chicago. Their pizzas are a must try! The pastas were cooked to perfection and the perfect al dente! Great wine selection too! Will definitely come back to their bruschetta flight and the rest of the menu ❤️

“This is the best Italian place and their homemade gnocchi is to die for, especially the carrot gnocchi.”
This is the best Italian place and their homemade gnocchi is to die for, especially the carrot gnocchi! The ambiance is so nice. We sat outside on their back patio garden which is spacious. The chef also made a dietary accomodation for me which was so nice. I needed cooked vegetables rather than uncooked (salad) and I really appreciate that kind of service. Their bruschetta flights are delicious, you can't go wrong with any of the choices. The pizzas look amazing too, we didn't try any but plan to next visit. The service is wonderful too, they're so sweet here. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!

Cozy and romantic atmosphere, they bring lights down in the evening, music is nice and the volume is perfect so you don’t need to yell at each other! The food was awesome, as a pasta lover I appreciate good aldente pasta and when it comes with champagne sauce and smoked salmon and capers.. was easy choice! Bruschetta flight is an excellent idea so you can pick and choose what you - worth trying! We liked the Italian wine selection - complimented our dinner perfectly! We will be back to try the fire wood pizza next! The service was quick and friendly

“Cozy Italian with an older chicago interior.”
Cozy Italian with an older chicago interior. This is the other half of Letizia's and its also very good. Enjoyed that the menu had half portion options on a lot of their entrees. Good selection of dishes without having too many or too few options. Service was good and food was delivered quickly. Only downside is during the winter there's maybe seating for 28 tops, with a patio during the summer about doubling it

“This place was really great.”
This place was really great! The food was good, the service was good, everything about this place was nice. It was my birthday, they gave us a free slice of cake which was awesome. The only reason I’m docking a point for atmosphere is because of a very loud gentleman at the front of the restaurant. Not their fault, but he was annoying enough to make an impact!! Can’t wait to come back and try some more of the food.

“Although I’ve never been to Italy, it felt like I was transported to a family-run restaurant in Rome.”
Although I’ve never been to Italy, it felt like I was transported to a family-run restaurant in Rome. The Bruschetta was amazing. They let you do a flight of different kinds. Our favorite was the one with goat cheese and marinated eggplant. The pasta, polenta, and calamari were great. We can’t wait to come back and try the pizza.
