“Great food, large portions, friendly staff and great atmosphere with a nice outdoor seating.”

“Breakfast joints are funny. Some act like they're curing world hunger, charging you the price of a decent steak while making you wait long enough to question your life choices. Yolk isn't one of those places. I've eaten here twice, once inside because Chicago decided to steam cook the city, and once outside under umbrellas tucked into what feels like a tiny urban forest. It's one of those rare spots where both options work. Inside, the AC is a hero. Outside, you almost forget you're surrounded by traffic instead of trees. Now, let's talk food. It's good. Not life altering, not something you'll write poetry about, but solid. The scrambled eggs are your basic breakfast eggs. The toast is toast. The bacon gets a 5 out of 10 from me, it leaned a little too crispy and could've used more of that glorious fatty goodness. But the home fries and hash? Those absolutely stole the show. The pancake situation had one disappointment: no Vermont maple syrup. That's a small heartbreak. Still, the pancakes held their own, and I survived the ordeal with my dignity mostly intact. Here's where Yolk really earns its reputation: service. These folks don't miss a beat. The menu has plenty of choices, your coffee never seems to reach empty, and your food arrives so quickly it's almost suspicious. I don't go out to breakfast to spend two hours occupying real estate while waiting for eggs. Paying premium prices to sit around is one of life's stranger scams. Yolk understands that. They're quick, efficient, organized, and somehow still friendly through it all. The real value isn't just the food , it's the combination of atmosphere, speed, and price. You get in, eat well, enjoy yourself, and get on with your day. By the time my breakfast hit the table, I was half convinced Superman had picked up a side gig delivering hash browns. I'd happily come back, not because it's trying to reinvent breakfast, but because it knows exactly what it is and executes it with impressive efficiency. Sometimes that's better than fancy.”

“Found this place on my walk back to my hotel. Ordered a "Build your own" omelet. I had Bacon, Sausage, chorizo and Swiss cheese. This thing is huge. Better bring an appetite with you. Great taste. Friendly service. A+ all around.”

“We are tourists from Germany and had breakfast at Yolk today. It was great, very nice staff and fantastic food.”

“Absolute awesome staff / floor manager floating to fill coffee and help without being a pain / clean and friendly. Food was not 5 star but a very solid 4 star diner. Why someone would wait in line 45 min up the street is crazy when you walk right in here to a friendly greeting and a cup of very good coffee.”

“This is our second time visiting! We love it! Great fun coffees and yummy breakfast options! We will be back!”

“Excelente opción para desayunar, la atención fue excelente por parte de la guapa Lin. Seguramente regresaremos.”

“Had a really nice breakfast at Yolk! The prices were fair and the portions were big — perfect for a relaxed morning meal. Everything was fresh and tasty, and I especially loved the horchata drink — super smooth and flavorful! Great spot for a cozy breakfast or brunch. Definitely coming back!”

“Phenomenal place for breakfast that will keep you going probably for the whole day! The staff is very friendly; when a leader is a part of a team it shows!”
