“Even tho we spent a lot of money there it was just us two so we didn't ask for a table”
I honestly hate this place. The drinks are disgusting, both times I’ve been the juice or puree they used in my whiskey sour was rotten.
I really wanted to like this place.
To go order paid on 11/9/25 at 7:20pm. Ordered a jalapeño burger & fries. Long black curly hair found in my fries.

“We recently hosted a 350-person company event here, and overall we had a really great experience.”
We recently hosted a 350-person company event here, and overall we had a really great experience! Most of the positive reviews you’ll find about HQ are spot-on. The customer service was excellent, and Colleen, our event manager, was absolutely amazing, she handled all of our requests with ease and made the planning process so smooth. Our group loved having access to both spaces, Machine Cocktail Bar and HQ. It gave our guests the freedom to move between floors and enjoy two completely different vibes, which really added to the fun atmosphere of the party. One fun bonus was being able to add our own swag to the claw machine, it was a hit with all our guests! A couple of small drawbacks were that one of the downstairs bartenders seemed overwhelmed with the large number of guests and came off a bit rude to several folks, also some of our food options ran out much quicker than expected. But despite those minor hiccups, we were genuinely happy with how everything turned out and would highly recommend this venue for a great time.

really chill spot filled with arcade games that are free. It wasn’t packed on a Saturday night which gave us space to try out a lot of the games that were there.

Attended a company event held here. Great atmosphere with retro ping-ball and video games. Loved the Back to The Future car hanging over the one bar.

“This is hands-down my favourite place to visit in Chicago.”
This is hands-down my favourite place to visit in Chicago. The selection of games was extensive, the staff were extremely friendly and the vibe was so much fun. I've met a few new people here on various nights, it is quite conducive for getting to know people. Note - many people are there to just enjoy the experience by themselves, but I met so many folks who were keen to play 2 player games throughout the evening. Special shout out to all those people getting their cars towed at 11 pm. I often stayed until closing. Will absolutely be back next time I visit

“The food was great.”
The food was great! My favorite was the truffle fries. The tofu baos were tasty but could’ve used a sauce for extra flavor. The elote fritters were our least favorite. They offer a varied menu, and I can’t wait to come back and try more dishes. Most of the games are free to play, and there’s a wide variety to choose from. It’s a fun spot to hang out with friends or family, and they also offer table service.

What a cool spot in downtown - parking could be troublesome as it's street level, but found a good spot nearby ($15 for 3 hours). Drinks were really well made, and the food was high quality and not too pricey considering you are downtown. Lots of classics mixed with newer allowed for all types of fun. Everything was freeplay except for darts and basketball, but totally worth it. Not sure if that is always the case. Noted there are trivia nights and events occasionally as well. We'll worth the visit if you are into "Bar-cades".

“I love this bar so much even though it was my first try.”
I love this bar so much even though it was my first try. I love arcade bars and this place has so many fun arcade machines including modern games like street fighters! It was such a fun and great atmosphere. I really enjoyed the time that I spent there. I wish they had their bar in New York too. It is amazing!

“Sadly the kitchen was closed and we had a train to catch so our visit was brief.”
Sadly the kitchen was closed and we had a train to catch so our visit was brief. But I really enjoyed this place! Chill vibes, bartenders and host were really nice. The selection of arcade games was great, lots of retro classics. They're free, we used several machines and they were all in good condition. Not a huge drinker but the cider and berry thorny drink were really good! We will def return on a night where we have more time.

“One of my favorite spots in the whole city.”
One of my favorite spots in the whole city. I love being able to be a big kid while having a few drinks. It’s free entry and all the games are free except basketball, which is only $1. They have good drinks and food as well. It’s always nice and clean and rarely is it super crowded. The only negative I have is on my last visit, on Christmas Eve, our bartender wasn’t so nice. I guess he was having a bad day.

Great atmosphere, the food is very good, huge variety of drinks and cocktails. The space is big so can host a lot of people without being too crowded. Plenty of games. The music is also different and varied.
