Yolk - Marina City
Yolk - Marina City — clean, consistent american in River North. It gets busy, and that's part of the appeal. Good service that doesn't feel rehearsed, and quick and efficient. P. Moore: "I also tried their tea this was one of the best teas I've had" [$$]

“We recently had a truly delightful dining experience at Yolk. The banana nut French toast was absolutely exquisite, a perfect balance of flavors and textures. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her Belgian waffle, finding it light and wonderfully prepared. We were also incredibly impressed with the attentive and friendly service provided by our server, Corey. Corey’s professionalism and warmth truly enhanced our meal.”

“It is a good food and good service. It has gotten expensive which is a general USA trend in recent times, so for porridge (oatmeal)with 2 $1.50 fruit sides, a small bowl of fruit, a side of yoghurt, 2 eggs and a cappuccino with 22% tip it was $47. It is still my go to breakfast place, 5 to 8 mins walk depending on crosswalk timing from Clark/ Lake CTA Blue line from the airport.”

“I pondered sharing this or not but I believe I must. This place has the breakfast of a lifetime. It was so good I actually cried eating it. The cinnamon roll french toast is straight out of heaven. The service is friendly, nice and welcoming! It felt like I was at my grandma's house and she was cooking for me. Please go to this place!”

“Great food and great service! Thanks Jessica for being such great server.”

“Wow! First time here and I’ll be back. Nancy demonstrated such professionalism and was so kind. The food came out so quickly, and was such of great quality. Overall, great experience. The staff was attentive, kind, and just lovely, hard working folks”

“Food and service are great here! I had the Chilaquiles and fresh squeezed grapefruit juice. Our sever Ike was awesome. Extra thank you to Alex and Yolk’s manager Zoey!!”

“If you are looking for a straightforward, fast, and satisfying breakfast spot before heading out for a day of sightseeing (or catching a flight), this is the place to go. The restaurant has a very simple and practical atmosphere, which is exactly what we needed for a quick but quality morning meal. We ordered the Country Skillet, and it was absolutely delicious. It truly stands out from similar dishes we have tried at other breakfast joints—the flavors were spot-on, and everything tasted incredibly fresh. One skillet was more than enough to comfortably share between the two of us, making it an excellent value. Overall, it is a highly efficient, no-fuss dining experience with fantastic food. Highly recommended if you want to eat well and get on with your itinerary without wasting any time!”

“Nice breakfast place. They even got a patio! Appreciate the proper poached eggs and attention to me ordering my food without onions.”

“Ughhh… one of our favorite breakfast spots ever. The house coffee is great to start, and the specialty coffees are always fun and delicious — the Peppermint Mocha Latte (pictured) is a perfect example. The build-your-own breakfast skillet is easily one of the most flavorful skillets I’ve had at a breakfast restaurant. Packed with flavor and cooked just right. And the chicken and waffles? Absolute slam dunk. Whenever we’re in the city, this is a must-stop breakfast spot. Can’t recommend it enough.”

“El desayuno súper deli, la neta recomiendo que si andan por Chicago vengan aquí!! No como un dennys y así, se vale probar algo nuevo 🫰🏻. Un desayuno de Estados Unidos muy típico con porciones muy grandes, así que no pidan uno para uno solo pidan uno como para compartir esa es mi recomendación 😁😁”

“Some of the hardest working restaurant staff I've seen in a long time. The kitchen crew was cranking out food nonstop and the serving crew was on top and ahead of any needs we had. I had "El Torero" and it was absolutely delicious! The chorizo added a nice touch to the eggs and the grits were a nice compliment to the meal. Coffee for a brunch place can be hit or miss but this one was a big hit. I loved this restaurant and while I wasn't expecting much out of it, seeing the”

“phenomenal. i'm a HUGE breakfast fan and this is the greatest breakfast i've ever had. not even exaggerating. photo looks odd because i've been absolutely destroying this chicken and waffles with sausage gravy and syrup and a nice egg on top (which is the most perfectly cooked over-medium egg i've ever had) even has surprise bacon bits!! i cannot overhype this place.”
