“Excellent gyro meat.”

Excellent gyro meat. Love ordering the salad with extra meat, extra tzatziki. Fries are thin, which is nice, but don’t seem coated so won’t last long if they’re to go. Diet soda tasted kinda off, not like Pepsi brand at all. The hot dog bun was stable and didn’t fall apart. Friendly staff. Definitely a fun and unique place!

Major shout out to everyone that works at Wolfy’s you employees are truly setting the bar for excellence when it comes to regards to customer service the quality of the food and the ingredients that you use. It’s a nice family run operation with a retro old school theme. Employees are professional, and greet you with a smile cater to the needs of your family while you figure out the menu Known for their signature style Chicago style, hot dogs, Chicago style, Italian beef, Many of their signature menu items can be gotten as a combo which comes with fries and a drink. The drink options are sort of limited for fountain drinks, but they do also have a variety of canned drink options and many dessert options. If you like hotdog Italian beef or any of the Chicago style signature dishes, Wolfy’s is a must try but it’s very nostalgic retro Chicago diner theme It’s kind of funny, funny side story after picking this place. My dad told me that’s actually where our parents met so it was fun little factoid, knowing your parents kind of met at this hotdog stand kind of cool to visit it after the fact without really knowing that detail, When I was younger, I used to walk down to this Wolfie’s all the time when there was a Harley dealership on Western and my father worked there we would go and get lunch for the guys that worked at the Harley dealership. The entire restaurant was very clean, even the bathrooms. It’s unfortunate that they don’t have a military discount…..

“Stopped in while road tripping through Chicago.”

Stopped in while road tripping through Chicago. I wanted to get an authentic Chicago hot dog. I ended up ordering the Polish sausage. The service was fast and friendly counter style ordering. The food came out quick. It was tasty and had a nice thick dog and tons of fresh ingredients. My only complaint was that the bun did not hold up and was kind of a mess.

I visited the other day, first time, and I hope no one else finds out just how enjoyable wolfys food is. This is THE spot. Looks a bit casual inside, but the food and atmosphere more than make up for it. Being able to order from the owner on any given day, or being able to see and smell your food being cooked really put the cherry on top. I've worked in food service for 8yrs, you can tell when a crew has a good leader, or if they have a boss. I got a cheese burger with fries, and shared a dipped beef sandwich with peppers, enjoyed a few nuggets. To say they're better than your fast food place would be insulting to the quality wolfys puts into their food.

In our tasting, the Chicago dog, polish sausage, gyro and french fries were all excellent. The serving of Italian beef was a heaping helping. Ordered dipped, with "sweet peppers" instead of "hot peppers", it was served with about a quarter of a good-sized green bell, in two sections. The beef was a tad on the dry side, and not very flavorful. Burger was also a bit disappointing. That said, service was friendly and top notch, they have cool t-shirts for only $15, and their sign is iconic.

I was finally able to visit Wolfy's and wasn't disappointed! Love the classic sign in front of the place. Had a jumbo char dog. It was definitely one of the best Chicago dogs I've ever had.

This place is a classic dog joint in the vain of other places just like it. Ironically actual dogs are not allowed in here. In order to control the massive crowds, you never enter from the same door you leave by. I was quite satisfied with my food, and the vintage interior which may not have been updated much from the '70s. I will very likely be back to try other items as I enjoyed what I had.
