Taqueria Ciudad Hidalgo — straightforward mexican in Rogers Park. Order the Tacos. This is cooking with real conviction. Britz: "I am not a big fan of coffee but their coffee is delicious and a must try if you go in the morning"

“My favorite is the red sauce that's hot enough to make me sweat, and I'm a seasoned veteran when it comes to spicy foods”
The food is great. But my reason for the two stars is the customer service. Waiter had an attitude for no given reason.
My tortilla was burnt, the burritos not wrapped completely, and the sauce wasn't closed all the way so it leaked all over the bag.
yes, anything having to do with "masa" tortillas are freshly prepared but the fillings and stuffings are questionably fresh.

“Our favorite stop along Clark in Rogers Park.”
Our favorite stop along Clark in Rogers Park. They always serve fresh food and the service is nice. They do have $1 street tacos with cilantro and onions but they are small so you should order 3 or 4. The burrito and the quesadilla were excellent. We would highly recommend this place!

“Love their tacos al pastor.”
Love their tacos al pastor. They're small, so five is a snack for me and 7 or 8 is a meal, but at $1 apiece, it takes a while to add up. Plus, I am known as a heavy eater, so there's a chance that less will fill you up! They have great salsa. My favorite is the red sauce that's hot enough to make me sweat, and I'm a seasoned veteran when it comes to spicy foods. Service is generally fast. Out of about a dozen times I've been there, only once did it take more than 15 minutes to get my food while dining in. It was also peak hours that time, and the employees were all working hard on taking and preparing orders. My favorite place to dine, city or suburbs!

“Called in for my 30min lunch i get from work..”
Called in for my 30min lunch i get from work... Was told it’ll take 5min. Cool, it took 6min to get there & still had to wait another 15min. Was goin to sit & eat, & asked the young lady to still pack to go. She said there’s a CHARGE to dine-in. HUH??? I didn’t even want to know the price, so i just waited on my food. Got the food & the steak tacos were over cooked & crunchy meat. The beans looked like soup & very watery & no texture whatsoever. I’ve been here once or twice before, but the food was never this bad...Only thing that was great about this place now, was the pricing.. True meaning of “You get what u pay for” ... I’ll never pay for it again at that place though. Wish i could get my tip back. **shruggs**
