The Hampton Social - River North
The Hampton Social - River North — high-caliber american in River North. Good energy here, especially on weekends. The bartender knows what they're doing. Joy: "The lobster roll was amazing fresh, flavorful, and perfectly made" [$$]

“Food was amazing. Drinks were perfect. Atmosphere was so great. Every staff member we interacted with was so friendly. First dining experience in Chicago and so glad my friend brought me here. Can’t wait to visit again!”

“Absolutely love this place! The food and drinks are great. I am a little disappointed in the recent change in Cesar salad recipe. My girlfriends and I would make a special trip in town for this Cesar salad but I guess they changed it to a more “basic” Cesar. Definitely not as good. I wish they would bring back the more fancy delicious Cesar as it was the best salad I had ever tasted. Below is a pic of the salad before it changed.”

“this is like the 7th stop on our restaurant week tour and this place was very mid. Let me start by saying Victor G was beyond nice and attentive, also the buss boy, host, and bartender. The food was another story tho. the appetizers were really good beside the 4 Brussels you get with the appetizer, crab and lobster bruschetta was super bomb. The salmon was overly fishy and not seasoned. the best part of the dish was the greens (sad), the “roasted carrots” were also not roasted enough because they were still hard. The bisque was good but the lobster melt was also unseasoned and underwhelming. they didn’t even have one of the desserts but the lava cake was amazing. Chocolate cake was mid and store bought. The vibe felt like a boat/ beach house w/ a bar and tvs. “poop deck” sign for the bathroom was funny too. only gave it 3 stars because the staff was so cool. Food should’ve gotten 2 stars”

“Not great. Live music on the first floor. Don’t order an espresso martini and expect to pay the price on the menu. Upon receiving the bill my espresso martini was $27 plus $4. The menu said $18 so when I got the bill I was surprised and asked the server she said it was a menu error. I asked why I was not informed she said she forgot. I asked to speak to the GM. He took off $4. No. Not. Happy. Will not return here. Will be disputing this. No where on the menu did is say there was an upcharge. The server did not inform and taking off $4 was stupid and a slap in the face.”

“Not the type to leave google reviews, but when youre paying $200+ for a dinner and you get this type of service, something has to be said. The portion size of the steak frites is laughable. Im comparing the pictures others have shared of their dish with mine and I was served child portions. I received 4 pieces of steak 💀 This definitely isnt a $40 plate. Service was subpar. Had to remind our waiter multiple times for our drink order. If youve heard “good things” about this place, just check out other spots in the area dont waste your time or money on a mediocre restaurant.”
