Small Cheval...I was really impressed. The quality of the food and service is on par with Au Cheval in the West Loop, but the experience is completely different. We were in and out in under 20 minutes. Small Cheval is NOT a substitute for Au Cheval even tho my burger was on point! it's a much different experience from the one at Au Cheval. At Au Cheval the precision that's put into constructing every burger is straight food science to a different level. Also, the way they dress their burgers is kinda different. Small Cheval is definitely the perfect place if you're looking for a delicious burger and fries, but don't have 2-3 hours to wait in line. 100% recommend!

This location just stacks em burgers a bit more artful than other locations. Fast service, friendly staff. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. Their chicken is pretty juicy I must mention, and their shakes are good, but you really gotta time that thing to not melt (sign of a good shake). This location has fun/plenty seating. Parking is hell.

Came here after the Bears game on a recommendation, and it did not disappoint! We ordered at the counter and ate outside — perfect setup. Adults had the signature double burgers (so good!), the fries were amazing, and the garlic aioli was bomb. The kids loved the chicken sandwich and chicken tenders. I had a boozy shake with Baileys and chocolate, and the hubby had the whiskey + key lime shake — both were incredible. Hopefully I can go again soon — highly recommend!

I loooovvveeee Au Cheval, but let’s be real—sometimes you don’t have 2 hours to spare or the emotional stamina to wait. Hence where Small Cheval comes in, the perfect next-best option. I come here all the time because the food comes out quick, everything’s tasty, and the aioli? To 👏🏽Die👏🏽For 👏🏽 The fries are seasoned to perfection and dangerously addictive. As someone with a long list of dietary restrictions (gluten, dairy, soy, sesame, oat), I love that I can eat here stress-free with the lettuce wrap burger 🍔 ! Lots of outdoor seating, fun drinks, and easy-ish parking. A repeat fav ◡̈

Excellent burgers and right near the 606. Ride your bike, jog, walk but stop by and have something to eat, but remember it does get busy. It is worth the wait. They also serve beer and shots!

I was recommended this place by our local tour guide. This is a top tier burger. The house lemonade was very good. Clean covered seating outside. Quiet area of town just down the road from the train station. Definitely worth a visit if you're coming to or from the airport.

Great burger restaurant in Wicker Park while visiting Chicago. Great burger. I had the Deluxe and it was so good. The burger came with a sp cual garlic sauce which I loved. The fries were good food. Even though it was winter, we sat under the heaters outside. It was a good experience!

Small Cheval is anything but small (unless you mean its menu). Large portions, lots of fries, lots of sitting space. A mean burger with lots of sauces to spice up the game, this restaurant is a great location in Wicker’s already plentiful restaurants to grab a quick bite. And if you’re lucky: the fries on some days taste better than heaven and I’d accept all the sodium being added to my diet if I could eat that many fries.

“The best burger I’ve had in a long time.”

The best burger I’ve had in a long time! It was so flavorful, tasty, and filling I would definitely come back and get the same thing again and again! It seemed pretty fair price for Chicago pricing and it came out really quick. I got to eat outside and listen to the train go by and that was great. It’s also really close to a bunch of other stores and bus stop. I would definitely recommend and will bring my friends and family here.
