Land & Lake Kitchen — straightforward american in Loop. No frills and no gimmicks, just a solid honest room. Solid drinks, with the bar pulling its weight. Priced right, no long waits.

“My friend and I discovered this place last year when we came to visit for the Glow concert.”
My friend and I discovered this place last year when we came to visit for the Glow concert. We love the comfortable cozy Bar and Kitchen area and the outstanding food and service from the bartenders and staff. They really make you feel at home, and are very fun to talk to. They're also very good at suggesting where to go based on your interests. We had such a good experience last year, we booked a hotel next door this year, for our stay/Glow concert trip. We were super excited to see that Matt, our favorite bartender from last year was still working the bar! In addition we spent plenty of time with Mike, Cameron, and Danny and now we have 4 favorite people there! The hushpuppies are to die for. Their French fries also. The salads, the fish sandwich and the pesto mushroom omelet. Everything is fresh. Ask Matt or Mike to make you an espresso Martini made with Amaro Alverna if it's later in the day and you don't want caffeine! See you next year Land and Lake!! Thank you all and happy Holidays!!

“The location felt super convenient and the place had a nice calm vibe.”
The location felt super convenient and the place had a nice calm vibe. We walked in without a reservation and still got a table right away which was great. The staff stayed friendly the whole time and the service was quick, perfect for a brunch stop. I tried the turkey sandwich and the omelet with goat cheese and salmon, both were amazing. If you are in the area, this spot is definitely worth checking out for brunch. A solid five star experience.

“This place is simply amazing.”
This place is simply amazing. Land & Lake Kitchen, located within the historic London House building, offers not just a meal but a full experience. From the moment I walked in, I was warmly greeted and instantly felt welcome. The atmosphere is lovely, with a balance of modern charm and historic character that makes it a beautiful setting for any occasion. The service was excellent—attentive without being overbearing—and the staff made the entire experience seamless and enjoyable. The food was absolutely delicious, with flavors that were fresh, well-prepared, and thoughtfully presented. Every dish came out just right, and it was clear that great care went into both the preparation and presentation. Combined with the wonderful staff and inviting ambiance, dining here felt like a treat from start to finish. Truly a top-notch experience that I would gladly return for again and again.

“I was looking for a good breakfast place and this place was great.”
I was looking for a good breakfast place and this place was great. I got their typical American breakfast. Eggs, potatoes, pork sausage, English muffin and orange juice. I was seated right away, and my food came out very fast. Service was great. They have indoor and outdoor seating.

Here's a review based on your experience: Land & Lake at London House: A Solid Downtown Spot (But Bring Your Wallet) Recently, we dined at Land & Lake, nestled within the London House hotel in downtown Chicago, and came away with a generally positive experience. The location is a definite plus, being conveniently close to the Riverwalk, making it a great option for those exploring the city. Our meal consisted of a classic burger ($18) and their fried chicken sandwich, both accompanied by a generous portion of fries. For drinks, we opted for a glass of red wine ($14) and, notably, their bottomless mimosas ($22), which is an excellent value for those looking for a brunch-style experience. The service was a highlight. Our server was friendly, attentive, and always wore a smile, contributing to a pleasant atmosphere. The final bill, including tips, came to around $100, which reflects the restaurant's pricing. It's safe to say Land & Lake leans towards the pricier side, especially considering the casual fare. However, the quality of service and the prime location partly justify the cost. A few points to note: parking is limited to valet, which can add to the overall expense. While the restaurant was busy, it didn't feel overly crowded, and the atmosphere was comfortable. Pros: * Excellent location near the Riverwalk. * Friendly and attentive service. * Great value on bottomless mimosas. * Good food quality. Cons: * Pricy menu. * Limited parking (valet only)

“Really cool restaurant.”
Really cool restaurant. Blueberry margaritas is strong, just a warning and I've had my share in places. The smoked salmon scrambled is different but delicious. I really recommend it. And the prices are about the same as everywhere else
