“The food here is really delicious. Went for the first time last night and I’ll be back soon. Tried the ribs, the chicken, pulled pork, onion rings, corn bread, Brussels sprouts and mac and cheese. Ribs and chicken were my favorites, but everything was really great. They say everything is smoked over hickory, but the meats didn’t have too much smoky flavor. OK with me because however they were cooked, they had a great tenderness and charred edges and the sauce was a perfect complement. Service was welcoming and efficient. Room was clean and comfortable. There’s a bit of coldness to the ambiance, that maybe could be addressed with softer lighting or darker walls, maybe? Great bang for the buck, though— generous portions and reasonable prices. I hope they’re around for a long time!”

“Great burgers and the fries are delicious. Food tastes fresh and staff is friendly.”

“First time here on 4/8/26! I really loved their homemade corn bread with special butter, Mac and cheese, coleslaw for the sides! I got a half chicken with their home bbq sauce..nice sweet and tangy. Loved their Sangria too. Wished I stopped by sooner and was jamming to the salsa and cumbia’s playing. It felt very welcoming for LGBTQ peeps too. Awesome new addition to West Ridge and hope they stay!”

“What a great barbecue place in Rogers Park! We’ve been looking for a good barbecue place that was near to us in Evanston since Smiley Brothers closed This place is the real deal! The food is terrific, the smoker is right on premises, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was a good vibe. Can’t wait until Spring time when the patio opens up in the back! We enjoyed our chicken, pulled pork and brisket! The sites were delicious, the macaroni and cheese and barbecue beans were very tasty. The cornbread was out out of this world! Do not miss the cornbread. AJ makes a great old-fashioned, our waitress. Evelyn was fantastic and Will stopped by to tell us about the new menu that will be coming out soon to include brunch. This will truly be a place I’ll come back to over and over again! The food is as good as the pictures look!”

“The Food is amazing and the prices are beyond fair! All this for under 100 is crazy nowadays so I'll definitely be coming back and telling everyone i can”

“Bull and Barrel on Western and Howard is a great neighborhood spot with a lively, welcoming vibe. The atmosphere strikes a nice balance between laid-back and energetic, making it an easy choice whether you’re stopping in for drinks or settling in for a full meal. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the place feels well run even when it’s busy. The menu offers solid comfort food options, and everything comes out fresh and well prepared. Pair that with a good drink selection and you’ve got a spot that works for casual nights out, game days, or meeting up with friends. Overall, Bull and Barrel delivers a dependable, enjoyable experience and is definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area.”

“Amazing brisket, pulled pork, pork chops, corn bread and much more. Growing up in Texas, it’s been a journey to find an amazing BBQ joint in Chicago and I believe we have found it in Bull and Barrel. The staff is top notch and the owner is always making sure everyone is having a great experience. Would absolutely recommend for the food and exceptional service.”

“Omg, amazing new spot. Our group of 6 shared two Chef's Platters, which allowed for lots of leftovers, even though we ate a ton. None of us was able to determine if the bbq chicken, pulled pork, ribs or brisket was the best - just a perfect rotation of delicious. The sides were equally great: creamy mac and cheese, melt-in-your-mouth mashed potatoes, decadent Brussels sprouts with bacon. The cornbread was INSANE. And the bartender made a mean margarita. Looking forward to their patio in the summer, but in the meantime, great place for good food on a cold night - or any night!”

“We enjoyed this new restaurant on Western. Had some good BBQ. Owner was super friendly.”

“A very nice cozy spot. Plenty of seats with a great bar to sit at and watch some games. Great drinks and smoked food with perfect portions. Food was definitely delicious and not over smoked at all. Plenty of flavor. Burnt end platter with Mac was perfect. Wings didn't need sauce on them. Owners and everyone there make sure you taking care of. Definitely stop by”

“He ido 2 veces los tragos son deliciosos y las alas también la atención inglés español me encanta lo único malo es q tiene un horario y lamentablemente no es correcto”

“We got the sampler platter with a couple sides. The pulled pork, chicken, and brisket were fine but not remarkable. The pork ribs were amazing. Perfect combination of char, fat, and flavor. The sauce was great too. I loved the smoked skirt steak served as tacos. The cowboy beans were fantastic. Brussel sprouts were some of the best I've ever had. Nice mix of salty, sweet, spicy, and smoky. I think they put a little of that Asian sweet chili sauce in there. Creative and delicious.”
