“I was in town for business and had a few hours to indulge the foodie side of me, and I’m so glad I found BBQ King House in Chinatown Plaza. This place serves some of the most authentic Hong Kong–style barbecue in Chicago. The roast duck was incredible — perfectly glazed, juicy, and full of rich flavor — and the crispy pork belly had that authentic crunch that’s hard to find anywhere else. I also tried the salt and pepper shrimp, which was light, crispy, and packed with that classic garlic and pepper flavor. The portions were generous, and everything tasted freshly made. The restaurant has that no-frills, authentic local feel where the food truly speaks for itself. If you love real Chinese BBQ or want to experience something that feels straight out of Hong Kong, this spot is a must-visit.”
