“Excellent food, great service, lovely neighborhood feel, and did I mention the incredible pizza? Might be some of the best in town. Sometimes it can be a bit empty but try this place out! You won’t regret it”

“The review is simple for their green peppers on their pizza. Finally a place that uses peppers that are cooked before being put on the pizza !! They are so tasty and oily but in a good way. I’m assuming these are the peppers they use on the pepper and egg sandwich. I hateeeee when places use raw veggies cause u get watery disappointment.”

“We love this place! My family and I have been coming here for over 15 years! The food is great. My very favorite is a grilled seafood platter with spinach and garlic. My next favorite dish is penne pasta with vodka sauce plus I add grilled shrimp. So so good 👍 Pizza is really good as well. Homemade tiramisu is outstanding!”

“Oh, you want to hear about a true neighborhood gem? Let me tell you about Trattoria Porretta Ristorante Pizzeria and Catering! From the moment you step inside, you're enveloped in a cozy atmosphere that just feels like home. But the real magic happens when the food arrives – it's authentically Italian and absolutely delicious! Their pizza is truly amazing, with a crust that strikes that perfect balance between crispy and chewy, and toppings that taste incredibly fresh. But beyond the pizza, you absolutely must try the Bone-in Grilled Pork Chops Vesuvio. The name itself hints at something special, and the flavor delivers in spades! And speaking of special, my wife can't get enough of the Grigliata Di Pesce. The seafood is always so fresh and perfectly grilled, it's her go-to every time we visit. To top it all off, their homemade Tiramisu is the perfect sweet ending to any meal – light, creamy, and bursting with flavor. What truly elevates the experience at Trattoria Porretta is the staff. They are super friendly, attentive, and always make you feel welcome. It's clear they take pride in what they do, and it shines through in their service. My whole family wholeheartedly recommends Trattoria Porretta. It's a fantastic local spot serving up truly authentic Italian cuisine with a warm and inviting atmosphere. If you're looking for a wonderful meal and a great experience, look no further!”

“Pretty good food. Watch out for the lasagna, they cheap out on it and it’s mostly noodles Layer of 2 noodles on the bottom, followed by a thin layer of meat, 7 more noodles in a stack, followed be some cheese, then more noodles on top. Everybody knows that’s not how you make real lasagna. (See attached photo)”
“I've been to Trattoria Porretta several times, and every visit has been a great experience. The service is consistently outstanding. The waitstaff is attentive, friendly, and always makes sure we have everything we need, checking in throughout the meal to see if there's anything else they can do. The food is always served hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. If you're looking for excellent Italian food, there's no need to look any further. I highly recommend stopping by and giving them a try—you won't be disappointed!”
“The best Italian food in Chicago.Must try pizza, bruschetta and oysters.”
“I've been eating at Porretta's for a couple of decades now, but my husband on the other hand, has been eating here since they were just a lil shack, in what's now the Grifols Parking Lot! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE getting the Family Special with the Pizza, 8 piece chicken & 2L! I do pay a few extra dollhairs to make the pizza a XL & getting COUNTRY STYLE CHICKEN is a MUST! I swear Porretta's country style chicken (fried chicken) is SO UH-MAZING, it puts places like KFC & Popeyes to shame!”
“I have been ordering pizza from here for 20 years. Always really tasty, made with good ingredients and really well done! The other day I was outside the restaurant cleaning trash in the neighborhood on my walk. Johnnie (owner) saw this and offered to buy me a pizza! Such a kind gesture.”
