Been to the old location many many times... but first time visiting the new location... it has been 6 years... lol. Had my favorite bone marrow... the portion was huge... it was very rich and delicious so a glass of bubbly was a must. Probably be back again this week before heading home. 2026.07.17 A lovely place to meet friends.

If there were 20 stars, the Purple Pig would get them all 🎉 we were in town for Chris Lake at Navy Pier, and during our restaurant research, this place kept popping up so we were stoked to get a reservation and try it out! Started off with a couple delish Old Fashion’s 🥃 + the tuna tartare, hummus, and piquillo peppers- SOOOO much flavor, super fresh, elegant and straight up next level. Not only were the flavors insane, but presentation was stunning 🤌 followed up with the Agnolotti, chicken thigh kebabs, and…. The Spanish OCTOPUS 🐙 🔥 seriously blown away, like I don’t even have enough outstanding words to express how delicious everything was. Service was fabulous, overall vibe was great- would legit come back to Chicago JUST to eat here. If you’re in the area, the Purple Pig is a MUST!!!!!! 100000/10 hands down ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ thank you for an incredible experience!

We had a great meal at The Purple Pig. We ordered the crispy pig ears, roasted bone marrow, agnolotti, chitarra, and pork belly, which gave us a nice mix of small plates, pasta, and richer meat dishes. The pig ears were especially fun and crunchy, while the bone marrow and pork belly were indulgent and full of flavor. Agnolotti with marrow was indulgently flavorful and was balanced by the squid ink chitarra. It is a great place for sharing several dishes and trying a little of everything. Seasonal passion fruit pan a cotta was a perfect ending. Definitely worth visiting when you are in Chicago.

The milk-braised Berkshire pork shoulder is the dish most people single out, and with reason. Slow-braised until the meat pulls apart with almost no effort, served with something bright and acidic alongside to cut through the richness, it's the kind of pork dish that makes you forget about everything else on the table for a minute. The crispy pig's ears with kale and a fried egg are the other thing everyone seems to order eventually, and they're worth the mild uncertainty if you've never had them, thin and crispy and way more approachable than the name might suggest. The roasted bone marrow with herbs and a bacon jam is the starter that gets talked about most in glowing terms, rich and fatty and spread onto crusty bread in a way that works unreasonably well. The Spanish octopus, grilled and tender, showed up as one of the stronger seafood options, perfectly charred with a clean seasoning that didn't bury the flavor of the fish. The wine list is extensive and well-priced, which makes everything easier. Walk-ins are welcome and the bar is worth sitting at solo. Reservations are recommended for groups, especially on weekend evenings when the room fills up quickly.

Had a wonderful dinner at The Purple Pig. We started with the hummus, which was creamy, flavorful, and a great way to begin the meal. The grilled broccoli was perfectly charred with just the right balance of seasoning. For the mains, the halibut was fresh, tender, and cooked beautifully. The spinach pappardelle was rich, comforting, and packed with flavor without feeling too heavy. The atmosphere was lively, the service was friendly and attentive, and every dish felt thoughtfully prepared. It’s easy to see why this place is so popular. I’d definitely come back to explore more of the menu.

Tasty food. Tasty drinks. Had the hummus schmear, the beets and the squid ink risotto. All were superb bites. I don’t know what they do to the risotto, but it was probably the best I’ve had. Very rich. Plates are quality over quantity.

I used to work on Michigan Ave, and for a long time this place had been on my list of places to try. I brought my husband here as we were in the area and I finally said let's give it a try. We were able to be seated right away without a reservation, but I would recommend getting a reservation regardless. Our service, I forgot his name, was amazing, just overall personable and attentive. The place was tucked inside an office building, so from outside it didn't look like much, but inside there was plenty of seating. Dimly lit and gave off a nice vibe. I was not sure about the food; I can be a bit picky sometimes with textures. I ordered the milk braised Berkshire shoulder and the beef tartar, while my husband got the pasta with beef ribs and beef marrow pasta and scallops. Everything can be described as simply amazing and delectable! The pork was fork tender and packed with flavor, and the pasta was savory. The beef tartare was packed with things I've never seen in a tartare, but when mixed, gave a wonderful explosion of flavor. I honestly did not walk in with very high expectations of what to expect food-wise here, as most trendy places tend to fall flat. But honestly this place absolutely delivered. Wonderful place to go after work or to hang with friends.
