“Really enjoyed this place. Everything was fresh and tasted great. What stood out to me most was how welcoming everyone was. As a tourist, it was nice to find a place that felt like a neighborhood spot where the staff knew their regulars and treated people like family. I’d definitely stop by again the next time I’m in town.”

“This is in fact THE bagel restaurant and deli. TOP BAGEL SANDWICH CONTENDER. I don’t know the background on if/how they make their bagels, but I would be shocked if you told me they aren't made fresh in house. The bagel itself had the perfect height, fluff, and crunch. I mean… just look at the top of that bagel. It is baked so beautifully. Major major points for the runny egg on the bacon, egg, and cheese. I love opening a bacon, egg, and cheese bagel where the egg is running out of the wrapper. Bacon was crispy even after being delivered. Cheese was melted. I truly loved this bagel and place it high up on my list. It is simple, yes. No crazy flavors or anything that is unique to the shop, but if you want a simple, amazing bacon, egg, and cheese bagel THIS IS THE ONE!!!”

“If you’re looking for an old school, classic Hollywood movie feeling of a diner, then look no further. This is a cozy and classic spot with a huge menu with something for everyone. Their sandwiches are the classic-style deli sandwiches with tall piles of thin sliced meat and choice of bread but I recommend the softest challah bread. Add the spicy mustard to top it all off and it reminds you classic doesn’t mean basic. The bagel crisps and pickle slices to start you off are sometimes all you need. I love a crisp Diet Coke to pair with. We also tried the chicken in a pot soup, which is exactly what it sounds like. A half a chicken in a ginormous mixing bowl. It comes with multiple bowls and a personal ladle; one person could certainly tackle it all but I recommend to share. On your way out, don’t forget to purchase some bagels for home or, even better, a black and white cookie. This is one of my top favorite restaurants in the city!”

“We found the cutest diner in #Chicago and it's a hidden gem! From the front, it looks like a small bagel shop. But go to the side and you will discover the amazing diner. A retro diner that takes the customer back in time to the 1950s; that innocent time of Americana we can only enjoy in movies nowadays. Tastefully decorated in red and black with wood trim throughout, and metal table tops; Feels as if one was dropped on a movie set; (perhaps, Back to the Future?) Challah bread slices and thin slices of toasted bagel that I couldn't stop eating. Plenty of pickle spears for the table. The chicken broth with a "kreplach" is a must-have. The delicate taste of the broth serves as a soothing enhancement to the hearty taste of the kreplach. The nova lox has a silky, rich, and flavorful taste with a hint of smoke and almost no salt taste. Generously served with thick and long slices, guaranteed to cover your choice of bread; served with tomato slices, cucumber, onion, green peppers, lettuce, and your choice of cream cheese and bread. The skirt steak was smothered in grilled onions (yummy!) and mouth-watering delicious! The Salted caramel cake is that forbidden treat, not to be underestimated. Your sweet tooth will never forgive you. The lemonade was refreshing & delicious with that balance of sweet and sour and a bit of bitterness only accomplished with fresh ingredients. Have you ever eaten at The Bagel Restaurant and Deli in Chicago? If not, you're really missing out!”

“It isn't the best Jewish deli, but is good enough. For me it's nostalgic. Matzoh balls, kreplach, lox, potato pancake, tzimis, etc...Server was great”

“Food is pretty good but if you come make sure to do it when they're not currently closed for their yearly sanitation violations.”
“Omg! This was an amazing find for lunch! The atmosphere was so fun! Its decor is diner style with posters of tons of musicals (hence on Broadway St). The staff are awesome! We had Brenda, a lovely waitress who was just so personable and we all just enjoyed her so much! The owner came by a few times and was such a joy to talk to! We had a buser who didn’t say much but was so fast we barely had time to swallow our last drink before our next showed up. Their menu is large from salads to sandwiches and wraps and burgers. The food was fantastic! We will be back next time we come to the city for sure!”
