Tuk Tuk Thai Isan Street Food — the Papaya Salad anchors this Lakeview thai spot. The atmosphere is half the draw here. Nothing here has been watered down. Works for larger parties, BYOB. "The papaya salad was perfectly seasoned with fish sauce and lots of toppings like salted egg" — H.H.H

“I fear this might be my new favorite restaurant in Chicago!”
I fear this might be my new favorite restaurant in Chicago!! everything was so transcendentally delicious: we got the Signature Pad Thai, Spicy Pork Belly salad, and Grilled Pork Neck appetizer (I don't know the names in Thai as they appear on the menu sry), and they were ALL amazing. the pork neck in particular was to DIE for, genuinely one of the best things I've ever eaten in my LIFE. for drinks and dessert, we got the Thai Iced Coffee, Pink (Sala) Milk, and Mango Sticky Rice (they warned us that the mango would be a bit sour, but even so it was amazing). everything was great. even the interior: the walls, the table, the table setting, were so beautiful and immaculate vibes. 10/10, would come back again

“We came here for New Year’s dinner and the place was buzzing with energy, but we only waited about...”
We came here for New Year’s dinner and the place was buzzing with energy, but we only waited about 20 minutes for a table — totally worth it. We ordered the Tom Yum hot pot, and it was hands down one of the most flavorful tom yum soups I’ve ever had. The brightness from the lime, the gentle heat from charred dried chilies (slightly smoky and almost blackened), the creaminess of coconut milk, and the fragrance of kaffir lime leaves and lemongrass all came together beautifully. That lightly roasted chili flavor added so much depth and complexity to the broth. One sip instantly transported me from a 16-degree Chicago winter night straight to a beach in Phuket. The balance of tangy, slightly sweet, and spicy flavors felt like a warm hug — comforting and unforgettable. The portion was generous and easily fed two people, with over 10 shrimp in the pot. While the shrimp weren’t the freshest I’ve ever had, for $22 and a broth this rich and flavorful, it’s honestly nothing to complain. We also ordered the fermented sausage and a rice dish, and both were absolutely delicious. Great food, great atmosphere, and amazing value — we’ll definitely be back!

“Great food, very rich flavor with the curry.”
Great food, very rich flavor with the curry. Chicken is delicious. Authentic Papaya salad (according to a friend of mine more familiar with Southeastern Asia cuisine) with marinated crab in it. Portion is surprisingly large and definitely worth the price. Good for hang-out with friends or just grab a quick dinner by oneself. It can get crowded, except 15-30 minutes wait for seats for dinner even in weekdays. You can see around Lakeview at the same time so it’s actually not that bad. Also, they don’t serve alcohol, at least I didn’t see it in the menu. The photo is a bit messy, I was too busy eating before realizing I should take a photo.

“Coming here on a Thursday at 6:30pm, we did have to wait 40 minutes for a table.”
Coming here on a Thursday at 6:30pm, we did have to wait 40 minutes for a table. That being said, it was absolutely worth the wait. This is the most authentic Thai food to the food I ate while I lived in Bangkok. Absolutely so delicious. We ordered some of the classics, panang curry, chicken pad Thai, and papaya salad. The curry had strong lemongrass flavor which I love. The pad Thai came with the classic sugar, peanuts and bean sprouts, the flavor was so good! My friend had a shrimp allergy and they were so good at handling it. Service was so kind, and such a fun environment. Also BYOB, we brought beers inside (no fee) Can’t wait to come back here and try more dishes!!

My best friend tried the pad thai for the first time and absolutely loved it. Make sure to have a reservation because we ended up waiting about an hour to get a table.

“I came with 2 friends for a Sunday lunch.”
I came with 2 friends for a Sunday lunch. It was a really hot day, and there wasn't any AC (which was kind of brutal)... but we got used to it with time haha We ordered a few dishes to share: -- Pad see ew: this was actually a little spicy? kind of a first experience for me for pad see ew. The chicken was tender and the veggies were all cooked very nicely. Solid plate of noodles. -- Kao pad krapow. We actually wanted to try one of the rice dishes with pork belly, but they were all out that day :( We had this basil fried rice instead, which was still fantastic! It tended to be a little bit heavy (salty/oily) but yummy nonetheless, and the chicken had a great flavour. -- Kaeng panang: delicious, and probably my favourite thing we ordered. It had a strong kick without being unbearably spicy, and was overall very rich and savoury (went so perfectly over a warm bed of rice). The chicken was tender and carried the curry flavour well. -- We also had an order of the mango sticky rice for dessert. I generally have high expectations for mangoes, and this definitely met the bar. The sticky rice was fluffy and had a great light flavour; it wasn't too heavy and paired with the coconut milk and sweet mango wonderfully. Portion sizes were so big, and prices were more than reasonable; we were all stuffed at the end of our meal and had a decent amount of leftovers. Would definitely recommend -- although maybe on a day that's less hot :)

“Was recommended the Kao Pad Pu (crab fried rice) and the Kor Moo Yang (grilled pork neck) by the server.”
Was recommended the Kao Pad Pu (crab fried rice) and the Kor Moo Yang (grilled pork neck) by the server. Fully exceeded my expectations and was beyond pleased with both dishes. The fried rice was topped generously with crab meat, the rice was fluffy, and the onions and scallions were a fragrant touch. Pork neck was grilled to perfection. Juicy, decadent, smoky. Top notch service, glorious flavors, and lively atmosphere. Truly a must try restaurant!!

“Our server was super friendly and offered great suggestions to our group.”
Our server was super friendly and offered great suggestions to our group. We ordered a little bit of everything. The food came out pretty fast, and the flavors were great. They offered 5 different levels of spice. We ordered either 1 or 2, but i wished we ordered them spicier. Overall, we had a really good experience. I would love to come back to try some of their other dishes
