The ramen was incredibly delicious, of course. The noodles were the perfect chewiness and the chashu is simply incredible. But actually I want to make a case for the eggplant fries, which were tempura eggplant sticks that came with lemon mayonnaise. It was so so delicious. The texture of the soft eggplant and the crunchy tempura sprinkled with a bit of spicy seasoning and paired with lemon mayonnaise is just out of this world. I would highly recommend trying it as an appetizer, it will enhance your experience for sure.

Food is amazing—authentic and very flavorful. The ramen was rich, well-balanced, and truly satisfying. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Special shoutout to Pamela, who was absolutely amazing. She was friendly, attentive, and made the whole dining experience even better. Highly recommend Ramen-san in Chicago! 🍜✨

Great service and atmosphere, but the food was also incredible! The Tantan-san ramen (veg), 10-hour Tonkatsu ramen, and fried tofu bun were highlights. We also got the eggplant fries which tasted great, but didn't come out hot (probably the only critique).

This place wasn’t originally on our plans but it popped up on our Google Maps and the food looked really good. We got there, waited for about 10 minutes and we our table was ready. The lady in the front was super nice and kind. Our server delivered an excellent service too. The food was AMAZING. Unfortunately we were full and couldn’t try more things from the menu, but we would definitely love to come back and try other stuff. My favorite plate was the chicken dumplings, they were phenomenal. I would recommend this place to anyone.

My family and I stopped into RAMEN SAN Deluxe and had an incredible experience. The restaurant is right in the River North / Streeterville area and the warm wood interior and lively atmosphere made it feel inviting the second we walked in. The staff was friendly, fast and genuinely attentive even though it was busy. They handled everything effortlessly and made the meal feel relaxed. The food was outstanding. I ordered the Kimchi & Fried Chicken Ramen and it was one of the best ramen dishes I’ve ever had. The broth was rich, the noodles were perfect and the crispy fried chicken plus spicy kimchi added amazing flavor and texture. My family enjoyed their dishes too, and the hot donuts at the end were the perfect finishing touch. The whole place has a great energy — everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, which made for a really nice vibe. We will definitely be back. This was one of our best dining experiences in Chicago.

“Great place for ramen.”

Great place for ramen! I had the 10 hour Tonkostu and added bok choy which complimented it perfectly. My Sister had the Chicken Shio with bok choy added as well. Service was friendly and great. The music playing was cool. Would eat here again!

Listen… Ramen & Buns did not come to play. The broth was rich, flavorful, and tasted like it had been simmering all day just waiting for me specifically. The noodles were that perfect balance of chewy and soft, and the toppings actually tasted fresh — not like they’d been sitting around. And the buns? Ohhh baby. Soft, warm, little clouds of joy. The fillings were seasoned just right and super satisfying without being heavy. Honestly, I could’ve eaten like four more without shame. Service was quick, spot was clean, and everything came out hot. Definitely one of those places you already plan to revisit before you finish your meal.

Stopped in after an appointment at Northwestern and so glad I did. Food was simply delicious and service was prompt and delightful. I only ordered the vegetarian ramen since I was alone. But I will definitely be back to try other things on the menu. Bonus: check out their Spotify playlist if you’re into 90’s hip hop.

This was a Japanese ramen spot with a trendy vibe—the atmosphere was spot-on and the staff were incredibly friendly. I went for the tonkotsu ramen, and the broth was so rich and flavorful. The chili oil on the side was perfectly clean and not greasy at all—delicious! Definitely coming back next time.
