Taco Maya
Taco Maya — the samosa taco leads at this top-tier Logan Square mexican spot. Old-school in the best sense, with zero pretense. Strong pours and a bartender who takes pride in the work, and open late. "The pork was perfectly seasoned, such that you could still taste the pork" — Nena C [$$]

“Food was great , but the cashier need to be more friendly.”

“Hey!! I love this location food and it’s warm/welcoming presence it has. Also, the customer service is awesome!! Highly recommended.”

“Hidden gem on Milwaukee Ave! Taco Maya has become my Logan Square go-to. The al pastor and carnitas tacos are loaded with flavor, the salsas bring real heat, and everything tastes fresh. Quick service, fair prices, and open late when you need it most. Highly recommend!”

“Came here for the churros, ended up having some food as well. When we entered, a gentleman came up and told us we could have a seat at any table and use the QR code on the table to place our order (you also pay at the time you order). Once we sat, we began looking at the menu on our phones, and the gentleman brought us a basket of chips and some warm (temp) salsa. He also told us we could grab other salsas from the salsa bar (next to the actual bar). My partner enjoyed the warm salsa, while I enjoyed the salsa verde (from the salsa bar). We then placed our order: - 1 Al pastor taco on corn tortillas - 1 Korean taco on corn tortillas (w/ a side of queso 1.5oz) - Churros with sauces on side My partner ate the Al pastor taco on corn tortillas. He said, as far as Al pastor goes, it’s one of the best he’s had. The pork was perfectly seasoned, such that you could still taste the pork. It wasn’t overcooked; it was still juicy. And the pineapple was really flavorful. I had the Korean taco. The meat was flavored well and there was a good amount of it; they didn’t skimp like some places do. The jalapeños and cabbage on top added a nice crunch. I ordered the $2 side of queso (1.5oz) to try it, because we didn’t want a full meal, but I love queso. Fortunately, we still had some chips left in our basket to eat the queso. The queso is super thick, stringy, and tastes good. I would definitely order a full size next time. The churros came out nice and hot, with the sauces in the side as I had asked. Although the menu says they are followed with cajeta, the gentleman said they are not. But there was some sort of white filling inside. At first, I thought it might be cream cheese, but it didn’t taste like cream cheese. It also didn’t taste like vanilla. I really have no idea what they are filled with, but they are tasty. I love cajeta, and so that’s the sauce I used, while my partner used the chocolate. We both enjoyed the churros and would definitely get them again. They are the perfect amount to share. The gentleman serving us was very kind. The place looked clean, but there was a slightly strange smell. It might have been coming in from outside, I’m not sure. That was the only negative. Everything else was great!”

“Good food, good prices, good vibes. What more could you want?”
“The food is delicious! Had chilaquiles and tortas they were all very good looking and delicious. The guy was awesome friendly and the food was ready so fast my code was still very hot! Definitely coming back and recommending to everyone!”
“Thank you SO much to the Taco Maya crew. We catered from them for our 4th of July gathering. Since the party was in Indiana, they pre-marinated the meats and gave it to us the previous night. All we had to do was to stick them in the oven for a few minutes. The spread was a gift that kept on giving all day long! It fed 25 hungry people all day , everyone loved it!!”
“Order often. Always perfect. Please stop using use first stickers on drink lids, it’s the worst lol Update: can you stop using staples on bags? It is not at all food safe to use staples around food, ever! It’s actually regulation in the City of Chicago. Tamper-proof seals are industry standard. Love the food!!!”
