“Visit Chicago only occasionally, but when I finally friend of mine and I always grab sushi (often multiple times). She knows what she's talking about and rated this top notch. Great "traditional" (as in, what you'd find here in America, with specialty rolls etc) sushi, quality ingredients (the yellowtail nigiri I had was wonderful). I absolutely demolished the 3 rolls (and they were NOT skimpy) and 6 nigiri and if the place had not been closing for the night, I might have considered more. My friends unagi don was perfectly glazed and fatty, and the gyoza hot and delicious. Can't go wrong.”

“So yum. We got harumaki (veg spring rolls), spicy scallop roll (my fav), Godzilla roll (date’s fav) and the mango California roll which was very mango Beautiful presentation Good food + good service + good value”

“Amazing sushi, great prices, and fast service. They let me sit at a table while awaiting my group. Didn't see any alcohol, sake, etc., on the menu if you like to drink at dinner, but also had tables at 6:30 on a Saturday night.”

“They offer a good variety of rolls. Food is good and the service is great. The waitress over heard my husband and I discussing my desire to stop somewhere for a birthday treat and she surprised me with a mochi. It was so good. The thought was so kind.”

“Ryo Sushi is a great place to enjoy authentic Japanese food in downtown Chicago. The sushi was incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. We especially enjoyed the specialty rolls and sashimi, which were prepared with great attention to detail. The restaurant has a clean and welcoming atmosphere, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and quick to serve. Prices are reasonable for the quality of food and the downtown location. Whether you're a sushi lover or trying Japanese cuisine for the first time, Ryo Sushi is definitely worth a visit. A wonderful dining experience with excellent food, great service, and a comfortable ambiance. Highly recommended!”

“Some of the best, freshest sushi I've had. Rivals places I've visited in Japan, all while being very reasonable in price.”

“I’ve been looking for a really good sushi spot in Downtown Chicago, and Ryo Sushi checked every box. I’ve tried a few places in the area, but this one has been the best so far. The sushi was incredibly fresh, well made, and full of flavor. Friendly, attentive staff and great vibes. Highly recommended 💯”

“First time here and I totally agree with the reviews. My husband and I ordered the Chicago roll plus two others, and everything was delicious. The service was great and the sushi was amazing. Definitely a place worth visiting. 100% recommended!”

“We enjoyed everything we got here. We started with the Harumaki (spring rolls) - very good, perfectly oily but still somewhat light since they have a vegetable filling. For sushi we got a Philadelphia roll (with fresh salmon instead of smoked), a salmon roll, and a shrimp tempura roll. Salmon quality was great. Shrimp tempura roll was difficult to manage with how large each piece was, but it tasted very good.”
