“Loved! Sushi was delicious and Tyler was great. Enjoyed the Hamachi Nigiri, Artmex, Mango Salsa Salmon and Dragon rolls, and the Green Tea ice cream to top it off.”

“Came here twice for the nigiri omakase experience and had a great time! It is very worth the price and reminds me of sushi in Japan. The fish is so fresh, melts in your mouth, and seasoned with great combination of flavors. I normally go into great lengths describing the taste of food, but in this case, I do not want to describe more because you have to experience each piece for yourself and enjoy the element of surprise. Service and ambience are amazing! This place never disappoints!”

“Great experience! food was great , cocktails were amazing service was very good”

“I was here for the $79 omakase with my partner and we loved every bite. It wasn’t crowded so it felt like we had the counter to ourselves. The service was great and the chef Sasaki was quiet, but friendly and explained every piece. My absolute favorite pieces were the otoro and the hirame with shiso leaf, but everything was divine and fresh. The matcha ice cream was delicious and they decorated for my birthday. Worth the price. The Jasmine cocktail was great for a strawberry lover but too sweet for me.”

“The food here is absolutely phenomenal, probably the most authentic Japanese experience you can get in Chicago right now. It’s one of the very few restaurants I find myself returning to again and again. Truly one of the city’s most underrated spots. Highly recommend.”

“My hubby and I dined at Nomonomo and sat at their sushi bar to enjoy their omakase and we were absolutely blown away! Sasaki San was our sushi chef and he did a phenomenal job. Our server Chris provided excellent service for us throughout the night and also mentioned that the majority of the fish that they use is imported from Japan. We could definitely taste the quality! It was a 12 course omakase and some stand outs for me were the Ebi Shirmp, Salmon with smoked foie gras, and the Fatty Toro. We also got their sake pairing which was $45 per person which we highly recommend. The last sake pairing in particular was a treat -- it was a pet nat style sparkling sake by the brand called Matsuri. We ended off our meal with a matcha green tea ice cream with toasted rice krispies. It was the perfect palate cleanser and a great way to end off our meal. We have enjoyed our fair share of omakase in the past, and Nomonomo did not disappoint! Definitely check them out if you're looking to enjoy an omakase dinner at a reasonable price for the quality that you get. We will be back!”

“Good Value, Fresh Fish, Affordable Omakase 12 courses for $79 is a good deal. I enjoyed every single course. It came with different sauces different toppings. Each cut of the fish is big and thick unlike other omakase places, their cut is so thin and tiny piece. You can taste the real flavor of the fish. There are so many pieces! Aburi hotate is amazing with a good torched smell and sweetness from scallop. Botan Ebi is huge. I think it’s the biggest one I ever had Akami Foie Gras is melting in your mouth. Uni and Ikura bowl is superb They are so good. I have to double order them. Here also offer happy hour menu. I took advantage of it by ordering oysters, cocktails and hamachi Kama. Oysters are yummy but sauce is too salty for me. Also ordered wagyu flat iron from robata. Wagyu itself is soft and tender but sauce is a little too salty for me. I love the atmosphere and decoration. It is nice and clean. Overall I really enjoy the food here. Definitely be back soon.”

“Went here for my partners birthday as this was a sushi spot reccomended to us by some friends! Nice and quaint on the inside. It is one of those places you walk by and if you don't pay attention to you'll miss. The sushi was AWESOME! We got 3 appetizers being edamame, blistered shishito peppers, and shrimp tempura. The edamame was classic no frills, the shishito peppers had a nice lemon flavor to it, and the shrimp tempura was nicely fried and very light. As for the sushi rolls we ordered SIX (hungry much?) The Artmex, Mango Salsa Salmon, Surf + Turf, Kani Hotate, Hot Yogi Vegan, and the classic spicy tuna rolls. ALL were excellent no notes! Our favorite was the Artmex 100%. The only reason this is a 4 is due to some service lacking. Took a while for our server to visit us. After that, the service was great and everything came out quickly. Would come back again!”

“I called Nomonomo to place on order over the phone for pick up. The hostess told me they no longer accept orders for pickup over the phone since they’ve had issues with people calling in orders and not picking them up. The only way they accept pick up orders is through online ordering which I thought was quite weird. So I ordered through uber eats and it said it would be ready in 20 min. I arrived to pickup the order to find out someone had just called in a $600 order ahead of me and I had to wait while the restaurant was completely empty. I waited and finally got my food. I ordered salmon avocado roll, tekka roll, tuna avocado roll, and crunchy shrimp roll. I thought the prices were a bit steep but the sushi to rice ratio was very generous. Overall the quality was very good and I would return if I was in the area. They just need to tighten up their pickup system.”
“If I went back here I would probably skip the rolls and focus more on their small plates and nigiri. Especially enjoyed the stir fried pork noodles.”
“Last minute omakase and it did not disappoint! For $79, you get plenty of food and variety. I really appreciated the fact that the nigiris were not covered in sauce like other places do. We also had the negima and karaage and both were really good and honestly pretty close to what I had in Japan. I’d say maybe the negima sauce could use just a bit more salt? But still really good. Not sure if it was because of the holiday weekend, but the service was slow. But they informed us ahead of time when we were ordering so we did not mind waiting. People were nice and we really had an awesome date night. Thank you and we cannot wait to be back!!”
