“I always go for the tacos or fajitas here—they’re my go-to! The fajitas have amazing flavor and never disappoint. But today I decided to branch out and try one of their entrées… and wow, I’m so glad I did! The lamb chops were absolutely fantastic—perfectly cooked, tender, and full of flavor. The potatoes were spot on, and the grilled zucchini tied everything together beautifully. Safe to say, I’ve officially found a new favorite”

“A great place to eat delicious food and enjoy good music. The rhythms of Latin American music and an excellent selection of mezcals will make you feel like you're on vacation in a tropical paradise, at least for a moment!”

“Amazing tacos… Leti’s customer service was so good at the bar that I want to come back everyday. Thank you so much for the tacos. The man w the roche was also very kind! 💗💗”

“Fantastic flavors. Absolutely loved the burrito with molé. Super reasonable prices. Service was great and everything came out quickly.”

“I've been here a few times and so far has tasted the Burrito dinner, combination plate, and The Lamb Chops. I have not walked out disappointed!! The ambiance is humble with a soft Mexican theme setting. This family owned restaurant is dedicated in making you feel at home all while serving up delicious food. Sister's work hard in the kitchen to cook up authentic traditional Mexican food that will make your palette happy. Not hungry drop by for drinks as their house margaritas will have you wanting a few glasses or more because it's so good and will give you a happy buzz. There's a small bar where you can eat and drink or just socialize. This restaurant is spacious and although reservations are not needed you don't want to risk a busy packed night. Located near Rogers Park and Gladstone Park community up north in Chicago. Heading to O'Hare convenient off the expressway you'll find this gem of a restaurant. After your dinner and drinks if you got room for my dessert you have to indulge in the Churros with vanilla bean ice cream. That was so yummy I could of in had my dessert before dinner. I can't articulate the simplicity/casual yet formal fine dining you'll experience at Mom's Old Recipe. This place is excellent for date nights, solo enjoyment, and or family celebration. They will also accommodate large group settings to suit up to 90 people.”

“Great family owned local spot in the Jeff Park/gladstone park neighborhood of chicago- really tasty entrees, j enjoyed my enchiladas trio. Homemade mole sauce is so delicious! They made my friend’s birthday extra special by brining out a fancy ice cream sundae and singing to her and putting the sombrero on her- it was delightful! The place was very busy on a Saturday around 6pm, so I would recommend a reservation. Overall nice dining experience. Good service, tasty chips and salsa, margaritas looked good and full service bar too”

“Mom celebrated her 92nd. They blasted Cumpleaños for her and then spread whipped cream on her nose. Fun times!”

“Very nice restaurant with very good food. The decor is very tasteful and the mosaic light fixtures are beautiful. The music is not overly loud and and it is still easy to have a conversation. The special appetizer of the pork rinds with guacamole was delicious. The chicharrones were freshly made and still warm and crackling when served. The Enchilada trio was delicious. The ranchera sauce was ok, but the mole and Verde sauces definitely made up for it. The menu states that the mole enchilada is with skirt steak, but there was clearly beef of another kind in it as well that was a bit fattier and stringy in texture (this is why the food didn't get 5 stars). The Verde sauce cheese enchilada was incredibly flavorful. It is a bit spicy but not overpowering. The flautas were very crispy, and the chicken inside was well seasoned and tender. The lettuce on the dishes was clearly fresh and crisp. The banana chimichanga was very well done. The tortilla was crispy and the banan was warm. Topped with a drizzle of chocolate and caramel sauce and several with whipped cream and vanilla ice cream. It was decadent and delicious. The Mexican hot chocolate takes a little long because it is made fresh and comes with 2 sopapillas. It is very flavorful and well done. I would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be back.”

“It didnt look like a mexican restraunt at all, very white and bright atmosphere, sat at bar, and noticed things being not very sanitary, wont be back, but bartender was friendly. The photo is where they put the margarita glasses lip first how dirty.”
“Great food! Mom’s is very authentic and tastes great. This is our go to for great Mexican food!”
