Tio’s Restaurant — under-the-radar mexican in Bridgeport. Order the Tamales. You can taste the generations behind this. Well-priced. Kristin Hayes: "The tamales were incredible (we tried one of each), and the quesabirria was out of this world"

“I personally had the green and rajas which they were both good but I love the rajas more bc it wasn't overly spicy had a good amount of cheese and rajas and it had epazote which was something new for me but it added flavor to it”
This was my second visit here , my first time I purchased half dozen green chile chicken tamales.
Don’t understand how this restaurant reopened.

“Tio’s is amazing!”
Tio’s is amazing!! They have recently had a menu change and all the food we had was delicious. Every time we go we eat great food and the taco dinner and burrito bowl are no exception. I recommend their refreshing pink lemonade as well. A wonderful place.

“First time eating tamales from this place and it didn't disappoint.”
First time eating tamales from this place and it didn't disappoint. I order a dozen (4 green chicken, 4 red pork, 4 rajas) for around $30. It might seem pricey but the amount of tamal you get is basically 2 regular tamales for 1 of their tamal. I personally had the green and rajas which they were both good but I love the rajas more bc it wasn't overly spicy had a good amount of cheese and rajas and it had epazote which was something new for me but it added flavor to it. Parking is off street. There are chairs and a bar table to sit more for smaller groups or individuals to dine and the lady (which I believe is the owner) was very friendly.

Great people making delicious food, awesome tamales. Best home made salsas I’ve had, I would definitely eat a bow of that salsa.

“I love it here!!”
I love it here!!! My organization did a cater order for 50 and everyone loved the food! They’re hospitable, friendly, caring, and their space is very chic! I came to return the crates and the owner offered me a veggie taco and their lemonade refresher. He saw the exhaustion in my face (post our board event). The tamales??? Chef kiss and the Hibiscus drink was very suiting for this summer weather. Everyone loved the food! They’re also reasonably priced. This vegan will be back! ~Rashanah

We visited while out of town, and we have nothing but GREAT things to say about this spot. The tamales were incredible (we tried one of each), and the quesabirria was out of this world. Don't forget about their drinks... Loved the hibiscus one! The only picture I got was of the Strawberry Tamale which was new to me!! Also, the staff was incredibly kind and helpful when ordering. If we come back to Chicago, we will definitely be back!

Wow, super yum! Ventured in for lunch and got the breakfast special and a chicken with green sauce tamale. Loved them both. Very affordable. The tamale is moist, flavorful, and just delicious. I wish I had ordered more. I'll be back to try out the other flavors!! The last pic is of my mostly eaten tamale. 😁

“What a great addition to our neighborhood.”
What a great addition to our neighborhood! Lucky us!!! Tio’ food is amazing and they couldnt have been nicer when we stopped in today. I think everyones excited -as they were BUSY!! And as on anyones first formal day open…its a lot! But they handled the rush so gracefully. wishing them the best of success in their new digs. The menu is perfect. We will be coming back and often….
