Taqueria Los Cuñados — neighborhood mexican in Little Village. Nothing about this place is trying to impress you, and that's the point. Rooted in technique and tradition throughout. Well-priced, cash only. "the red sauce is spicy but good" — Hector Hernandez-Arroyo

“Español: Pastor tradicional, lo más cercano al sabor del pastor mexicano a un precios accesibles.”
Español: Pastor tradicional, lo más cercano al sabor del pastor mexicano a un precios accesibles. English: I have been looking for a good place to eat tacos al pastor with my friends. Most of the places in Chicago do not cook the pork for the pastor the traditional way (en trompo). Hence, the pastor tacos are usually very greasy and moist. However, in Taqueria Los Barrilitos they cook the pork on a trompo which makes the meat crispy, soft, and delicious. My friends from Mexico City told me the tacos here are the closest to the traditional tacos al pastor in the city. They also pair the tacos with an amazing salsa verde and salsa roja. My only complain would be that they ran out of pineapple last time I was there. Also, it is cash only.

“The Al Pastor was really good, the meat on the asada tacos were in my opinion a little to tough meatwise.”

“Nice vibe to the place.”
Nice vibe to the place. The food was just ok, I think a harder sear would do the meat justice. The tacos did not disappoint but they also did not blow my mind, very mid.
