Mole Village Restaurant
Mole Village Restaurant — Pilsen mexican anchored by the Mole. The kitchen takes tradition seriously. Good service that doesn't feel rehearsed. "The quality of the food did not suffer at all, the meats were so tender and juicy, the mole was top notch" — Lulu Zhang [$$]

“I had the mole enchiladas with chicken they were so delicious”

“Mole Village is truly something special. We ordered two mole dishes, the Enchiladas de Mole and the Village Pollo Mole, which is a two time Mole Fest winner, and both were outstanding. The mole is rich, complex, and clearly made with a lot of care. You can taste the depth of flavor in every bite. Our server was very attentive and made sure we were taken care of the entire time. The food did take a little while to come out, but it was completely worth the wait. If you arrive hungry, I’d recommend ordering something to start. If not, just sit back and enjoy the anticipation because what comes out of that kitchen delivers. If you love mole or want to experience it done right, Mole Village is absolutely worth the visit. Highly recommended.”

“The food and ambiance here always feels like home. The food is always made to order, fresh! The coffee is delicious. I have been here several times and have never been disappointed. Always recommend!”

“My partner and I had such a wonderful experience at Mole Village. The food was incredible, but what really stood out was the warmth and kindness of the service. Our server, Anahi, was so attentive and welcoming and even made our coffee fresh — it was delicious and with a gentle hint of cinnamon, such a comforting touch. We ordered the Chilaquiles Agave and the Chilaquiles con Mole, and both were absolutely amazing — flavorful, comforting, and clearly made with care. They also serve breakfast all day! Between the amazing food, the thoughtful service, and the cozy, welcoming atmosphere (great music too!) this is definitely our new go-to breakfast spot. You won’t be disappointed! We’re already looking forward to coming back next time!

“Was craving some mole and my fiance found this place and we loved it! It's a small-ish place but the food is amazing and it just felt so welcoming. It's a different taste of mole than the region my family is from but still give it a 10/10.”

“As I note in my other review, I generally do not post on local gems, like this that I don't want gummed up with crowds, but I really want this place to stay open, so here we go. This is a tiny restaurant tucked away along the industrial/residential corridor of Blue Island Ave. that has exceptionally spectacular food. Homemade tortilla chips and tortillas, molcajete that isn't too spicy, and the sweetest service you could ask for from the staff. We had the pozole and caldo the pollo which were very clean, bright and restorative. The mole isn't out of a jar and avoids the cloying sweet with no dimension that you can get at other places. The chile rellenos are flavorful and cooked accurately with good breading and delicious cheese and sauce. Did I mention the custom made corn tortillas that are soft, chewy and seasoned perfectly? Come to this place. It is not a "cheap" place so prepare to pay for the love and attention you'll taste in every dish.”

“Came from Dallas to try this place out, took two trains to get here and it was definitely worth it! As soon as we came Anai provided amazing service. She even let us try the mole before ordering. I would highly recommend the chilaquiles de mole and agua de Jamaica to everyone!!”

“Staff was friendly and welcoming. The mole was amazing, tasted homemade and reminded my of my mother’s very own cooking. Tortillas were handmade too! Will definitely visit again!”
