“Great chips and salsa, awesome selection of tacos, and some cool cocktails and margaritas, in a casual open space, what else could you want? We came on a Friday and it was packed for 5p, so def make a reservation. We ordered about 5 different orders of tacos since they come as an order of four and split them as a group. I truly don't think we had a bad one, so order your favorites. I also had an awesome mezcal cocktail, I'd recommend that but the margaritas were also good. Happy to see someone went in this space as I think it's going to do great.”

“Would definitely recommend Mercadito for a date night, girls night, or a casual Tuesday dinner. Everything from the atmosphere to service and food was on point throughout the night. Overall vibe - The restaurant had a refreshing, upscale chill vibe. Music was smooth/slow electronic. Lighting was adjusted appropriately with the sunlight. Chairs and benches were both comfy (yes, I tried both). It was a hot day but I never felt too warm or too chilly. Service - excellent service. Servers are present but not too pushy. They were able to offer recommendations based on preferences and dietary restrictions. Server knew the menu well. What I ordered: Mistys sleeve - tart and slightly spicy margarita. The salt run was very floral with a hibiscus salt. Pmegrantive guacamole - such and interesting and yummy twist to the classic quacamole. The pomegranate seeds give a fresh burst of flavor without overpowering the whole dish. Little Market - really refreshing take. It tastes like a boozy version of a Piña Jaritos. With a Tajin salt trim and cilantro. Definitely my favorite of the night. Barbacoa tacos - really well balanced and juicy. The lamb just melts in your mouth when you take a bite. Branzino - refreshing with quite a bit of acidity due to the sauce and relish. I enjoyed the tanginess of it all and the rice which grounded the dish.”

“Audrey was our waitress and she was amazing! Her energy and positivity added to the fact that the food was great! I had the Brussels sprouts and ceviche with a pomegranate TitoRita! All great! “Overall, we had a great visit! The margaritas are a little pricey, but definitely worth it. We also ordered the chips and salsa (always a little disappointing when they’re not complimentary, but these were really good), the queso fundido with chorizo, and the steak tacos. The chorizo was a bit sweeter than we prefer, so it wasn’t our favorite, but we loved the melted cheese. The steak tacos were excellent, we’d come back just for those, along with the margaritas and chips and salsa. The vibe is also a huge improvement over the previous restaurants in this location. The bar looks like a great spot to grab a cocktail. We definitely recommend Mercadito!”
“After trying the River North location and being impressed, I was excited to have a location within a mile of home. I secured a reservation through Open Table only to be scrunched into a teeny table for 2 against a wall with very little room for plates, drinks, food and a candle. It was especially tight because we loved making a meal out of sharing apps. Spilling things was a constant threat so it was a precarious situation. So, between being stuffed against the wall rendering one side of your body using limited space and the other side being constantly in the aisle of traffic - that sucked. The noise level made holding a conversation impossible. The service was attentive, friendly and efficient. The food was delicious. Everything was visually perfect in presentation and better in taste. We started off with a refreshing margarita. The queso fundido was perfectly melted and served with tender, hot tortillas. The quesabirria was perfectly balanced so each layer of flavor came through. The esquites and tostones were perfect side dishes to enjoy on their own-they were that good. The mini churro bites with 3 sauces were the perfect ending. It’s a little pricey but this is a dining experience so I was not upset about it.”
