“The burrito was hefty but quite delicious as it's moist and on the cleaner side”
Too Expensive for the amount of food you get, almost 16USD for a bistec a la Mexicana.
This was my second time to this restaurant. The first time I ate I thought it was ok. My second time was not good at all.
if you can, skip this place. i got FOOD POISONING FROM THEIR HOT READY CHICKEN.

Authentic Mexican store, Carnitas and hot food, exceptional fresh cut meat selection with in-house butchers and your go-to for ALL hispanic groceries. Produce is good, fresh with a nice selection as well.

Visiting chicago from boston, we stayed at an airbnb across the street. Ate at the touristy places then on the way home grabbed some hot food and bakery items from the grocery store. By FAR the better meal than the expensive CHI food. Can't compliment this place enough!!!

“This is only for the restaurant, I cannot speak on the grocery store…yet.”
This is only for the restaurant, I cannot speak on the grocery store…yet. It’s a favorite of the College kids as it’s close to North Park University but also to the Spanish speakers in the neighborhood as well. It’s authentic af, I was nervous trying to order in Spanish until I realized that the staff also speaks English as well. The nice thing is like unlike some places in the city they don’t charge you for chips and salsa. Also, if you want to pop some shots of tequila it is byob. I ended up with the burrito and rice. My girlfriend ordered a hefty veggie torta with rice and beans. It was legit and look forward to learning more on duolingo to surprise them when I come back!

The beef soup, chicken soup, and flan are so good whenever I visit Chicago I come here. Their prices are very reasonable, too. Each of them (including the flan) could be a whole meal.

“When you walk in the first thing you see it's fresh produce.”
When you walk in the first thing you see it's fresh produce. Walk a little further and you going to see the meat department and you can see how everything is so fresh and you can see the homemade Mexican sausage just hanging there. My favorite in there is their cook meals everything it tastes so good good everything is homemade with that Home style flavor. Come to think of it, everything there is homemade, their bread, their tortillas, their meals, natural juices and everything is made with fresh ingredients all the time.

“Friendly, neighborhood restaurant attached to a Mexican grocery, so the ingredients are always fresh.”
Friendly, neighborhood restaurant attached to a Mexican grocery, so the ingredients are always fresh. Open late, and almost always full of families. But stay as long as you like--they will never rush you out the door. Nice vegetarian versions of burritos, nachos, etc, feature lots of spinach, mushrooms, peppers and onions. Breakfast available all day. Daily specials. And an especially tasty torta con pollo milanesa.

Chicken flautas are huge. Prices are reasonsble. Bathroom was a disaster— SO unsanitary to be purposely vague.
