This spot is definitely a hidden gem in the Lakeshore East area downtown Chicago. Unless you go into the little section that it’s located at, you will probably never know it’s there, however, it is by other popular restaurants. Sad to say there are not a lot of authentically good Mexican options in the downtown area of Chicago. There are a couple that are absolutely terrible, but I won’t even go into mentioning them lol so I can honestly say that this spot is a top Mexican restaurant option in the downtown area. Everything that I had was good from them, starting from the margaritas to the appetizers. The quesadilla that they make comes made with four different cheeses and which ever four they chose are amazing together! Both of the entrées that we had were good. I tried the flautas and my niece had the was quesabirria and outside of the fact that they both had great flavor, there was so much food on the plate. Definitely worth the price! Gotta say that this place surprise me and they definitely have a repeat customer.

10/10 would recommend, staff is very attentive and friendly. In particular for my experience at Gordo’s the bartender Issac was a super dope and chill knowledgeable guy. They have great happy hour promos every day. Only a couple minutes walk from the chicago river def worth a visit

“This place is great.”

This place is great! It’s in a corner/kinda hidden. The service was amazing. Very attentive and the food was so good. Definitely recommend. We had their mango margaritas, breakfast skillet and the poblano dip which was also really good. The quesabirrias are a must! FYI There’s some outdoor sitting but not much.

My first time in Chicago and LOVED the food + service here. Coming from a hispanic the food was amazing and tasted authentic. I would DEFINITELY recommend, the service was fabulous and the female server even offered us a plate on the house! Can’t wait to go again

“This place is amazing.”

This place is amazing! Food is authentic, prepared wonderfully and served fast all times I’ve been here. The staff is attentive and very nice and so welcoming and friendly. The atmosphere is super welcoming and calming. Lots to look at and enjoy. The entire establishment is very clean and looked after. A great place to have a wonderful relaxing and well served meal ! This is the view overlooking the park where they are located behind the Swissotel where my wife and stayed for our 10yr anniversary. Short walk from many of the Upper Wacker Dr hotels and Navy Pier area .

Really great locally and independently owned taco restaurant in a bustling and highly populated area just north of Millennium Park in downtown Chicago. We loved our tacos! They were fantastic! The service was quick and the wait staff were friendly and welcoming. $3 tacos on Taco Tuesday is the most fantastic deal in the entire downtown Chicago! See my photos for the extensive selection of their many types of tacos. There were three of us and we got six different tacos. Each one was excellent!

support this small business ASAP! asides from it being an incredibly clean and friendly restaurant, it is THE most reasonably priced food in the city if you come during their extensive specials / happy hours. 2-4 M-F half off appetizers and entrees!! 4-6pm happy hour!! bogo entrees M/Sun from 3-close!! bottomless mimosas during brunch!! their portions are amazing as well, it really doesn’t get better than this for a good filling meal in a city filled with overpriced and overrated restaurants. service is incredibly fast as well, our food came out in under 10 minutes and was delicious. sweet staff too. this place deserves more love from the loop/LSE communities!! I implore anybody and everybody to check it out.

WOW. This place is SO GOOD! We happened to walk into this place for brunch and I’m so glad we did. The Mexican benny blew me away it was so delicious. My boyfriend got the chilaquiles and LOVED them. The service was great. Food was incredible. Really fun and casual atmosphere. Also the best refried beans of my life.
