Went here cuz I was in the area and searched on reddit for a good spot to eat but the carnitas tasted boiled and soggy.
This is the first time I got stiff by the young man that was serving the carnitas, he asked me what was I going to order, he was very nice and polite, I told him I wanted a pound of regular chicharrón (pork crackling) He went ahead and put the chicharrón inside a brown paper bag (keep in mind that you can not see what pieces he is picking for you because the chicharrón is on the other side of the counter) then he asked me if there was something else I needed, I told him that's all.
Lunch was great, food was fresh and fast.

I've eaten here so many times since 2010 when my brother moved to the area and it never disappoints! It was a lucky find as he was getting to know his new neighborhood and thank God he shared it with us. We've eaten in, gotten take out, but no matter which one we choose they always give great service. I've tried brain tacos from them (that surprisingly taste kind of like eggs), but our favorite is to order multiple pounds of the carnitas. It's SO good!! They give you fresh made tortillas, cilantro, onion, lime, and pico. Sometimes in the summer they have people right out front with different flavored Agua Frescas. If you're going to do carnitas be warned they do sell out, so try to get there early if you can. (Sorry my pictures aren't great this time)

Great local restaurant. Went here for the first time, after hearing great things from friends. It definitely did not disappoint. The food was great. The portions were great and very well priced. I can't wait to come back.

A true Pilsen staple, this is my absolute go to for carnitas and tacos de cesos (brain tacos). You can dine in or take it to go no matter what it's well worth it. Menudo on the weekends and they're open super early. You can never go wrong with going to Don Pedro's for your porkasm! And the service is even better they treat you as if they've known you for years.
