“Finally, I came back to Carmela's Taqueria after 35 years, and it is still where I find the best tacos and quesadillas of Chicago! Simple yet delicious food served here at affordable prices 😋. This hole in the wall is one of the best real mexican places in Chicago. Not to be missed and will return forever.”

“carne asada burrito -- perfect meal before heading to the riviera”

“Great tasting and good size burritos for the prices! Limited seating”

“This spot has authentic Mexican food! The food is really good. Steak tacos were wonderful I really enjoyed. Steak burrito with everything is so good as well and very filling. Chips with salsa is a plus here because the sauce is very spicy if you like it like that. And to end it with a drink Chata was well prepared and tasted good as well.”

“Good vibes and tasty, quick food. Got the special - the two taco plate w rice and beans for $12. If you are in the area, can’t go wrong with Carmela’s!”

“Spent a few days in Uptown and came here for the Tacos having seen the wheel in photos. Got the Al Pastor, lengua, and steak tacos which were amazing. Great hot sauces too. Will definitely be returning”

“Stumbled upon this place after rock climbing! I was delighted with their service. The atmosphere is giving grab some food after work before catching the bus home type vibe (the restaurant is right next to the bus stop). The style is very “to go”front so we know it’s good lol. The guy that took my order may not speak full English, but he’s very nice and politely helped me with their menu! I got 2 chorizo tacos and horchata for $14! When I finished my tacos I was literally contemplating to get another tacos or burritos to go.”
