My go-to spot for birria done right. When it comes to birria, everyone makes it a bit differently, and every place has its own unique flavor. This consomé is rich, flavorful, and always hits the spot. I ordered a large bowl of birria seca y maciza. The meat was phenomenal as always, tender and packed with flavor. The tortillas are hecho a mano, which really seals the deal. Always my go-to spot when I'm missing the birria from Jalisco and want something close to it.

This birria is like a hug to you soul! Delicious consommé, fantastic tortillas, THE BEST lengua tacos ever too!! Staff are extremely friendly and attentive. If you run out of consommé in your soup but still have your meat they will keep topping you up with consommé. If you get tacos make sure to get them on handmade tortillas, the tacos are quite large.

“Quesabirrias 10/10.”

Quesabirrias 10/10. I got the quesabirrias de Chivo combo. I was impressed. I had tried goat meat before that stunk and this one didn’t have a smell. It was flavorful and the consome which is not spicy which is a plus for me. Menu is small, decent prices, service is great, there is also free parking across the street (if you’re in Chicago, you know what I’m talking about). Must visit spot if you’re in Chicago.

“This was my second visit.”

This was my second visit. I love love love the Birria here they only have a few items. Goat Birria beef, Birria, quesabirria tacos are the main stays. Like all good Birria joints do, once your consommé runs low in your bowl, they’ll come around with a hot picture, full of consommé and top you off. The Birria comes with some hot sauce and onions and cilantro if you would like and tortillas. I recommend the goat, although I am sure that the beef is delicious as well, I was there with three friends. None of whom had been there before. They asked if it was our first time. I replied that it was for those three and they said OK you need to try our quesaBirria tacos and brought us a couple of them cut up so everybody could try them, on the house. How lovely was that? As far as the atmosphere, it really reminds me of eating at a restaurant in Mexico. And I don’t mean in the tourist areas of Mexico. I mean this in the best way. Our server was absolutely the best. She was super friendly, but didn’t speak a lot of English, so I had to translate for my friends. But that just added to the experience in a very positive way. In my opinion I thought the prices were very fair. In fact, I would say it’s among the better value of all the Birria places around Chicago and the Pilsen neighborhood in particular. 10 out of 10 will probably come back every time I’m in Chicago. The Horchata was perfect. The best I’ve ever had outside of Mexico, and as good as any that I have had in Mexico. Also, this restaurant is BYOB.
